Delaware Diamonds Travel Baseball Club
Welcome to the Delaware Diamonds baseball website.
The Delaware Diamonds are an elite travel baseball program based out of Newark, Delaware. The program has acheived considerable success, as our original group, which began play in 2003 as a 13-U team, compiled a record of 126-42 (.750) through the 2007 season (with AAU National Championships in 2003 and 2005, as well as several other tournament wins through the years), and had 2 players drafted in the June 2008 MLB draft (Brett Oberholtzer in the 8th round to Atlanta and Richard O'Donald in the 47th round to Seattle). The original team also produced 9 collegiate baseball scholarships, with 5 being at the NCAA Division 1 level.
The Diamonds will be starting a 16-U program for the 2009 season, with tryouts to be held in early August. Our program's goal for the new team is to follow the path of success set by the original team, while preparing the players for baseball at the next level. Our plans are to play travel baseball at the national level, participating in AAU, ECTB, and Perfect Game/World Wood Bat organization tournaments all the way through the 18U level. Perfect Game is widely regarded as the premier set of showcase events, where our players will be exposed to hundreds of college coaches from all levels as well as professional scouts from all 30 Major League teams. It is our main goal to see our players go on to success at the next level of baseball, whether it be collegiate or professional.
