This past weekend DelCo Pop Warner had two teams in the Regional Championships for the Eastern Region. DelCo won one out of two games in the championships. They may have gone two for two if the Panther jr. midget team would have been able to play their game. In the first game for DelCo Pop Warner, the Panthers were to play the Poughkeepsie Pioneers. Due to an administrative problem the game was not played and forfeited to the Pioneers. DelCo Pop Warner administrative staff would like to thank and congradulate the Panthers for a fine season and Let them know we are all proud for their accomplishments.
In the second game, the Oak Lane Wildcats captured the midget division 3 championship. The Wildcats controlled the game with ball control offense and tough defense. At halftime the score was 14-0, the Pioneers did not score until there was five minutes left in the game. After the Pioneers scored to make the score 20-6 the Wildcats came back and scored another touchdown to dash any hope of a Pioneer comeback.
In Regional Bowl games this season DelCo Pop Warner went .500 winning percentage. The Trojans went one and two. The Trojans peewee team won and the jr. midget and midget teams lost their Bowl games. The other teams that won were the midget Panthers and the jr. midget Dynasty Dragons.
This was an outstanding year for DELCO Pop Warner and we look forward to having another great season next year.

Delco Pop Warner crowned the champions of each division this past weekend. On Saturday the Panthers and the CATS played a hard fought game in the 100lbs. Both teams going up and down the field, with the Panthers coming out with a 12-0 victory. In the Peewee game scheduled, the TBL Falcons were without enough players to play the game therefore the Panthers won the game by forfeit 2-0. In the Jr. Midget game between two evenly matched teams the CATS and the Panthers played hard defense in the game that went down to the wire. The CATS came out in the spread offense and moved the ball down the field however the Panthers held and scored a touchdown and extra point. Which made the difference in the game as the CATS scored the touchdown but missed the extra point. The Panthers are moving on to regional with a 7=6 victory. In the last game of the day, the Oak Lane Wildcats took the opening kickoff back 70 yards for a touchdown and never looked back as the new kids on the block won their way to regional with a 25-19 victory.
On Sunday, in the tiny mite game between the Panthers and the Dynasty Dragons, this was a very tough hard fought game that was no score with 12 seconds to half time when the Panthers running back took the ball off tackle and ran 30 yards for the touchdown to make the halftime score 6-0. The game was as competitive in the second half when again late in the fourth quarter the Panthers scored another touchdown to seal the victory for the 75 lbs football team.
In the mitey mite game the TBL Falcons went up against the Panthers. The Falcons began the game moving the football into scoring range, however they were not able to punch it in for a score. The Panthers took control of the football at their own 38 yard line and marched down the field to score their first touchdown of the game. The game went back and forth until the fourth quarter again the Panthers scored to make the score 13-0. The Falcons came back to score quickly in the fourth quarter. They failed to recover the onside kick. The Panthers ran out the clock for the victory and crowned the mitey mite champions of 2006.
