For the first time in the history of Down East Family YMCA the combined Ellsworth/Sunrise Senior League baseball team has won the Maine State Championship.  They went through the District and State Tournaments without a loss.  They start the Regional Tournament on August 1 in West Deptford, New Jersey and are looking for financial help from the communities involved (letter attached).  All donations are 100% tax deductible.  If you can help please send to:

They will be playing an exhibition game against the District 3 Champions on July 29 at 7:30pm at Mansfield Stadium.  Lets help support our team on it way to Regionals.

9, 10 Year Old Softball

Team lost in the District Semifinal to Machias.  Calais is the District One Champion.

11, 12 Year Old Softball

The girls beat Calais 9-1 in the tournament opener.  Calais eventually won the Championship 7-4 and 4-2.

13, 14 Year Old Softball

The girls lost to Calais then beat Machias and lost the Championship to Calais. 

9, 10 Year Old Baseball 2

Team lost to Bucksport 2 25-21 and then lost to Sunrise 10-6. 

9, 10 Year Old Baseball 1

Manager Corey Bagley and Coach Dana McGraw led the team to the District One Championship.  They did not lose a game in the District One Tournament winning the Championship 14-4 against Calais.  They head to the State Tournament soon.  We will keep updating the site as they progress through the State Tournament.

10, 11 Year Old Baseball

They lost to Bucksport twice and Bucksport wins the District One Championship.

11, 12 Year Old Baseball

For the first time in the history of Down East Family YMCA Little League they won the Championship 11-1 in Machias.  They lost the first game of the tournament 4-1 in Calais and fought their way through the losers bracket to get back to the Championship game.  They ended up defeating Machias twice.  They lost their first State game 5-1 in Lebanon.  They were eliminated from the State Tournament by District 3 on July 21.  The League is very proud of all the coaches, players and parents on their success this season.

13, 14 Year Old Baseball

Lost in the District Semifinal game to Calais.  Bucksport eventually won the tournament beating Calais in the Championship.
