Defiance Softball Association: Welcome

The Defiance Softball Association (DSA) has been a non profit organization since 2005. The league has been in existence in one form or another since about 1975. We oversee the girls leagues of 16u, 12u, 10u, and 8u(coach pitch). We also run the Defiance city T-ball league under the DSA. Overall, we have about 500 kids participate per summer. We strive to teach the girls the basics of softball while also emphasizing fairplay, respect of teamates and coaches, respect of the game, and companionship throughout the league. We realize the importance of guidance not only on the field of play, but also off the field. We also currently field three Spring League teams. At the end of the summer program we also field an All-Star team for each age group. We host a couple tournaments at the end of June and into July. We have four fields located at Diehl park here in Defiance. You can find directions under the locations tab to your left. We have a fully stocked concessions stand on site. A meeting room sits above that. We are funded through registration of the girls and sponsors for each team. We also survive through the generosity of many donations from local organizations and businesses. We also are included in a city subsidy of monies. Many links are provided through the links and sponsors tabs to your left. We would like to thank all that have been or are still involved with the DSA.

The 2012 season officially starts on Monday May 14th with games. Coaches who play in Tinora, please have your scores turned in to me via email at jleatherman1@roadrunner.com or you may text me, as soon as your game is over. For games played at Diehl Park, the umpires will turn in the scorecards as usual and i will pick them up for the scores. Thank you in advance.

Attached you should find the Spring League rosters and the schedules and scores for the 2012 season. We would like to thank all the girls who came out to participate. We have created 2 more teams this year, as this shows our program continues to grow. A big thanks to the parents as well, as this would not happen without your support. Also, Thank you  to the coaches who will be assisting all teams. We wish you all luck this spring.
