SACRED HEART CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT

That's right, the Fourth Annual Sacred Heart Christmas Tournament is right around the corner. Games begin on Saturday, December 26th and run through Wednesday, December 30th. The Brackets are posted in the Christmas Tournament Section of this site. Just click on the Link above for more info.
Once again we welcome all of our friends from the participating parishes and schools to our tournament. We look forward to having you with us for games and fellowship.

As I am sure you are aware and recently read in emails from the CYO Board, the Sacred Heart Christmas Tournament is a major fundraiser for the Sacred Heart CYO program. It is the success of this tournament, along with other fundraising efforts, that has allowed us to make many of the improvements to our facilities and our uniforms. When you attend the Christmas Tournament between Dec. 26-30you will see new additions from just this year - our varsity players in new uniforms, beautiful new player chairs, new bleachers on the stage, refinished locker rooms, new lights in the gym, and much more! Ourfacility looks outstanding!
This tournament is also a wonderful opportunity for us to market our school. We will have teams from all over metro-Detroit in our school for five days. What a great opportunity to show the community the wonderful gem we have in Sacred Heart. So, we need your help for this tournament to again be a success. Even if your child will be participating in the St. Alfred Christmas Tournament, we need your involvement and help for our program!
There a many ways you can help.
- Tournament Directors, Joe Caruso and Andy Hall, are designing a tournament program complete with rosters, logos, and an opportunity for you put a personal ad to your child in the program, especially if they are participating in our tournament. I am sure you have seen these messages in other programs...they are great and the kids love them! See the message below from Andy Hall on how you can participate.
- Contact Angie Sauve to volunteer to help at the tournament at asauve@wowway.com or 313-562-3634. This tournament will run from Dec. 26th through Dec. 30th and need hundreds of volunteers.
Tournament Program: Along with the rosters we aregoing to advertise in the program, please forward this and see if theplayers' parents/grandparents would like to wish their children good luck or other messages. We are going to sell the messages for $20 each, if parents want more than one square we can work out a price. The size will be approximately 2"x2 1/2" there will be eight to apage. Parents can send the messages to me, Andy Hall, (scipio@wayne.edu)and then send payment to Sacred Heart CYO Attention: Carol Hutcherson 912 Military Street, Dearborn, MI 48124, or give to your coaches to give to me. We are going to go to print on Dec 16th, please have payment at Sacred Heart Parish before that date.

CYO BOARD MEETING
Your CYO Board of Governors meets on a day during the first week of every month at 7PM in the Parish Office Basement. Due to the Parish Renewal week our next meeting will be held on Thursday, December 10th. Our meetings are announced here, are open and all are invited to attend.
2009/2010 TEAM SIZE GUIDELINES
Parents, we have posted our guidelines for determining team sizes. As many of you are aware, our no-cut policy has caused some of our teams to get rather large. In some cases we have not had enough athletes to adequately field a team. These new guidelines will hopefully remedy this and make for a better playing experience for all of our athletes. It is important that all parents read the guidelines. They are posted in the Handouts link to the left.
FORMS
Parents, all the forms needed to play a CYO sport at Sacred Heart are located in the Handouts link to the left. Please download them, fill them out and give them to the coach or A.D. prior to the first practice. If you're child has not played a sport at Sacred Heart this school he or she will need a sports physical prior to the first practice.
