About Dede
Welcome to Dede's website.

If this is your first time here, please check out the other areas on the menu bar to see what's happening.

Dede has been writing information on the recruiting process since 1989. The information first came merely as handouts for district, sectional and national tennis tournaments and meetings. These handouts soon became booklets and as Dede's popularity grew and the desire/need for the information became apparent, Dede put her past experience and past articles together and produced a complete USTA Guide for Prospective College Tennis Players.  This was last updated 1998.

Dede served the United States Tennis Association for almost 15 years as the Association’s Administrator, USA Tennis Junior Competition — and was the Association’s liaison to the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA. Prior to joining the USTA, she had been the Women’s Tennis Coach at Wake Forest University for 7 years, where she was named ACC Coach of the Year.

She is the author of the:

Collegiate Guide for High School Tennis Players - First Edition
Collegiate Guide for High School Tennis Players - Second Edition
Collegiate Guide for High School Athletes
USTA Guide for Prospective College Tennis Players

Magazine articles:
"Reading, 'Riting, and Recruiting"
"Back to the Basics - Recruiting 101"  (An article for college tennis coaches)

She has presented seminars throughout the country for 15 years to prospective college tennis players and has now expanded her seminars to include all collegiate sports. Her workshops are hands-on, interactive sessions.

Allen has an extensive tennis background as a player, college coach, and teaching professional.  She is a USTA National Recreational Workshop Trainer as well as a Community Consultant for USTA - Florida. She volunteers in her local area for a variety of tennis activities and also finds time to officiate.  When she's not doing tennis, you can find her bike riding or kayaking.
