PREPARING STUDENTS FOR THE COLLEGE ATHLETIC RECRUITING PROCESS

Get your copy of the Second Edition of the Collegiate Guide for High School Tennis Players is available.  Click here to purchase the Guide (Check out the other services offered)

It is the tennis industry's most complete user-friendly collegiate guide  on the market - it covers a wide variety of topics.  For a sneak peak - check out the Table of Contents.

Class of 2008-
You've started your first year of collegiate tennis - only 3 1/2  more years to go.    Hopefully, everyone had a good summer.  REMEMBER, you have to maintain good grades all the way through in order to stay eligible for competition all four years.    Continued success for rest of your college tennis career.  HAVE a terrific freshman year!

Class of 2009
-  Let the Games Begin!!   All is fair in love and recruiting.  Hopefully you had a busy summer playing tennis.  You may have you noticed that since July 1 coaches have been busy starting their official recruiting season.  Remember - each NCAA DI and DII school is allowed ONLY 1 telephone call per week - to either you or your parents.  They are limited to the number of calls in order protect you from being bombarded with coaches repeatedly calling you.

Many of you will be asked to "commit" to and /or sign a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with a school in November.  IF you are ABSOLUTELY 1000% sure this is the school you'd like to attend - then sign with that school (NCAA DI and DII only).  BUT remember once you sign the NLI you are obligated to go to that school as the NLI is a legally binding contract.

If you have purchased the Collegiate Guide for High School Tennis Players, you know that by now you should be well into your search for schools that meet your needs.  If you haven't purchased one - now is the time.  Ask your parents for a copy of the "Guide".

Know your rules - especially at tournaments.  REMEMBER - once you have signed in on-site, coaches CANNOT talk to you until you are on your way home from the entire event.  However, they can speak with your parents on site.  Coaches are not hard to spot - they usually come decked out with a t-shirt, hat, briefcase or something that has there school name on it.  If they say "hi" at an event - you can certainly respond with a "hi" back - but that's it.

No matter what class you are in - REMEMBER - the better your grades are, the more educational opportunities will be available to you.

You don't need to be an All-American to play tennis in college!! There are thousands of opportunities at all levels of collegiate play. DDA Sports CAN help you out navigate your way through the recruiting maze. Check out the sample pages and the member benefits - just to get an idea of the services offered. Then contact me directly at dede@ddasports.com with any questions you may have about the services.
