About Boundary Waters and Douglas County Youth Baseball Program

Douglas County Youth Baseball League, Inc., was organized to provide opportunities to enhance the quality of the facilities and programs our children, coaches, and families utilize to promote a quality youth baseball league that remains safe, spectator friendly, and easy to access. Our coaches are certified and insured by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association and subject themselves to background checks.

Douglas County Youth Baseball League, Inc. was successful in being granted an exclusive Use Agreement with Douglas County for the NEW Boundary Waters Sports Complex at the Aquatics Center off Hwy 166. The Complex includes eight (8) baseball fields with modern drainage designed into the fields. The center hub design consists of five (5) tournament quality fields circling a central concession stand with facilities. The outside ring consists of three (3) additional fields with concessions. Parking consists of approximately 500 parking spaces. Batting cages are located near the fields. At a cost of nearly 6 million dollars, the complex's inagural season was the Spring of 2007. We believe this baseball complex is what our children have deserved for years and will better serve the needs of our families to view multiple games from the same vantage point.

To further the baseball program, Douglas County Youth Baseball League, Inc. has integrated the Douglasville Youth Baseball League, Inc. (known as "DYBL") formerly out of Hunter Park and leadership from the Mt. Carmel Baseball Program to provide expanded opportunities for children to broaden their exposure to the various talented players and coaches in both programs. As a result the new DCYBL, Inc. board will consist of members from both programs. The collective group, we believe, will provide experienced guidance over the organization, which inherits a rich history from both of its predecessors. The combined group enjoys membership from the oldest chartered program in Douglas County and a program which boast the success of having produced more Major League players, college players and high school players in its alumni than all other county programs combined.

DCYBL provides baseball opportunities for children ages 4 through 14 in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.
