Dale City Little League: Welcome

All Star  manager letters of intent are now being accepted, for the canidates who wish to be considered to manage the DCLL All Star teams for the 10 - 11 year old team & the 11 - 12 year old team. All letters must be received no later than 12 noon on Monday May 20th. You may email your letter of intention to League President Patti Perry at: dcllpres@yahoo.com or you may drop them off in a sealed envelope at any one of the concession stands.

Umpires Needed!!!

Dale City is looking for adult volunteer umpires. If you are willing to umpire(home plate or field) a minimun of 6 games you will get your registration fee refunded for 1 player. You must complete the 6 game requirement before the refund is issued. All you will need for apparel  is an umpire shirt, you may use the leagues or you may purchase one for $35.00. Home plate gear will be provided by DCLL. You are required to take 1 umpire training class. Please contact Bobby Richardson at the email address listed below if you are interested. 

If you are interested in umpiring, please contact Bobby Richardson: dalecityllblue@gmail.com . Dale City will offer Umpire Training for anyone interested. Those dates are: March 26th and April 2nd and 09th. These training classes will be at the Turley Clubhouse from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. District 9 also offers umpire training to all. Those dates and times will be posted as soon as they are announced. All Junior umpires will be compensated for their time. Please consider coming and joining our umpire team!  

Spring Cleaning:

DCLL is looking for used microwave ovens that are clean & in good working condition. If you have one which you would like to donate to the league please contact Bev Francis @ bafrancis3@comcast.net .

Looking To Be a Sponsor in DCLL:

Listed below are the different levels of sponsorship that your business can choose.

Platinum Level - ($650.00 & above) Receive recognition listed in silver level and in addition will receive your business name to appear on the back of each players jersey for one team and a banner with your business logo/name to be displayed at one of our fields.

Gold Level - ($500.00 - $649.00) Receive recognition listed in both bronze and silver level and in addition you will have a choice to receive either your business name to appear on the back of each players jersey for one team or have a banner with your business logo/name to be displayed at one of our fields.

Seeking Help:

DCLL is looking for help in repairing the dugout roofs at the Turley & Leitch fields and also the roofs of the towers at the Turley fields. They are in serious need of repair. If you are a contractor & would like to volunteer your time and or materials to DCLL we will gladly list your name or company name on our website as one of our sponsors and will provide a banner at the field for you. If you are not a contractor & would like to volunteer time or materials you are most welcome to do so. Little League is an all-volunteer organization. It takes many dedicated volunteers to make YOUR league a success each year. Anyone interested in joining the DCLL Board of Directors or just volunteering to help out please contact League President Patti Perry at dcllpres@yahoo.com.

MANAGERS, COACHES, PARENTS, AND KIDS (13-19):

Umpire training will begin Tuesday, March 5th at 6:30pm - 8:00pm.  Training will be every Tuesday in March & on April 2nd & 9th.  All training will be at the Turley Clubhouse.  Yes, that means 7 days of training.  If you have never taken DCLL umpire training, you SHALL attend ALL training classes.  If you are an experienced umpire, then you must let me know which 1 day you can make.

Junior umpires do get paid for their time. $30 for plate; $20 for field. Adults umpires are purely on a voluntary basis and do not get paid.

Age 12 kids wanting to try umpiring, please feel free to join ALL the training classes.  I will give you a try.

COMPOSITE BAT RESTRICTIONS UPDATE:

Please Check the list before purchasing a new bat for this spring. All bats will be checked & composites not on the approved list will not be allowed.

Little League International has imposed restrictions on composite bats for all divisions (T-Ball to Bigs). Click here to read the article on this issue. Since the original announcement on December 30, 2010, an increasing number of composite bats have received waivers from Little League Baseball to be used.
