DCAC PARENTS & SWIMMERS!! MONDAY - FEBRUARY 8TH PRACTICE NOTE:
Practices will be held AS USUAL tonight!! However, due to a rescheduled basketball game (girls), the GIRLS locker room (including shower area) is NOT available. **We are asked to direct the Girl Swimmers to use the Women's Restrooms past the HS Common Area (across from the library) if needed for changing, and should BRING THEIR PERSONAL BELONGINGS TO THE POOL DECK. Swimmers CAN enter the pool deck through the normal route through the showers. A DCAC Parent will be available to direct swimmers; we suggest that parents supervise/escort their children to the pool deck tonight. Please allow a little extra time to get to the pool deck.
DO NOT leave your belongings in the locker room or restroom. The boys locker room is available as usual. Parents - please relay this information to YOUR OWN SWIMMER...

DCAC cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Next dual meet is Friday, February 12th, at Wylie, vs. Tecumseh. Specialty Stroke for this meet is BUTTERFLY!! Warm-ups at 5:30; meet starts at 6:15 pm.
Please make sure you are signed up for the meet in the meet book.

~Notes to Winter DCAC Families~
As the weather outside has turned cold, a few other issues to remind you of: Please send your swimmer appropriately dressed for the weather, coat, hat, gloves, etc...Since the swimmers leave the pool with wet hair, a hat is essential!
Also, since it is dark very early out, please have your swimmer wait INSIDE the building for pick ups. We do NOT want kids waiting outside in the dark.
For any weather related questions regarding practice cancellations, please first check YOUR email and the website. We will send out any information regarding changes or cancellations as quickly as we have the information. If school is cancelled it does NOT mean practice is automatically cancelled. If you have questions regarding practice cancellations please feel free to contact me.
One last item, please DO NOT exit the pool deck via the doors on the pool deck. As it is now cold outside, it is difficult to keep the pool deck warm for wet swimmers and if that door is opened and closed throughout practices cold air can make it cold for our swimmers. DCAC has a new email system, effective Fall 2009. We have set up separate email lists to which you will need to subscribe. The best way we can communicate with our members is via email.

Additional reminders - PLEASE...
- ARRIVE ON TIME FOR PRACTICE: This means your swimmer/diver is ON DECK at the start of their practice time, in their suit, ready to get in.
- For Swimmers & Divers safety, DO NOT drop off your child at ANY practice without checking to see that a coach is present.
- Be considerate of the coaches and pick your swimmer/diver up within 10 minutes of the end of practices - especially last practice groups of the day!

Swimmers are allowed to swim ONLY with the practice group they are assigned to/registered for. You MAY NOT attend practice for another group.

Enter the pool deck ONLY from the locker rooms! The pool deck needs to be kept clean and it is difficult to do this with outside dirt coming in. DO NOT make the Lifeguards tell us there is a problem!

Children (non-swimming/diving siblings, guests, etc.) that are at the pool that are not swimming/diving MUST BE supervised by an adult/parent and MAY NOT be running or playing on the pool deck as it is distracting to the coaches and lifeguards.

If the track above the gym is not already in use, parents are welcome to use the track for running/walking workouts! :) Children are NOT to be ANYWHERE in the school unsupervised.

The Dexter schools are in use by many different groups EVERY DAY - valuables should not be left in the locker rooms. Swimmer/diver bags can be brought to the pool deck. DCAC is not responsible for stolen or missing items.
