50-70
The 50/70 Division (ages 12 – 13) is a pilot program introduced by Little League International ® in 2010. We tried it out with one team in the fall, playing against Boca Raton Little League teams. It was a great success. We had it structured so that our 12 year olds could continue to participate with the Majors division, and our 13 year olds could also continue to participate in the Juniors division. If you have a 12 or 13 that is interested, please contact admin@delraybaseball.org. PLEASE NOTE: WE ONLY ALLOW 12 OR 13 YEAR OLDS TO PLAY IN THIS DIVISION IF THEY ALSO PLAY IN THEIR RESPECTIVE DIVISIONS.
(Players MUST be either 12 or 13 by April 30, 2012)
T-Ball
Ages 4 - 7 (players must be 4 years old by April 30, 2012).
Kid Pitch (Minors)
Ages 8 - 10 years old. (Players must be 8 years old by Apr 30, 2012).
Coach Pitch (Minors)
Ages 7* - 9 years old. Players must be 7 years old by Apr 30, 2012. (* We do allow 6 year olds to play in this division provided they have played at least one season of T-ball and our independent evaluators feel the child is physically able and is mature enough to play coach pitch baseball with 7 and 8 year olds.)
This is the instructional baseball program for players to gain experience. There is no stealing of the bases and the focus is primarily on building fundamentals. Five runs per inning is the maximum number of runs that may be scored by the batting team. We require the coaches mandatory rotate the players to infield positions during the game, unless the manager and parents deem there may be a safety concern. Ten players play on defense and the batting order is continuous. Games are played on Friday evenings and/or Saturday mornings and are timed to last between 1 and 1 and a half hours.
Majors (Little League)
Ages 10 - 12 years old. (Players MUST be 10 years old by Apr 30, 2012).
