Dayton Fangs Women's Ice Hockey: Welcome

Welcome to the home of the Dayton Fangs! 

Miami Valley's only women's ice hockey team continues to grow.

The Dayton Fangs is part of the Pennsylvania-Ohio Women's Hockey Association (POWHA). We are a travel team and compete against teams from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati.

This season we will compete against the Cincinnati Rising Stars II, Columbus Bandits, Cleveland Heights Ice Hawks, and Pittsburgh Puffins. In exhibition, we will meet the Columbus Capitals, Cincinnati Rising Stars I, Central Pittsburgh, and the Cleveland Falcons.

If you can't travel, that is okay, we have practices and home games you can participate in. This site is updated frequently, so look for news, announcements, scores, statistics and additions to the rosters.

Dayton Fangs 2009-2010 Season Schedule Announced

Dayton Fangs Release 2009-2010 Season Schedule

 Kettering, OH – The Dayton Fangs Women’s Ice Hockey Team, organized as a non-profit corporation under the laws of Ohio, today announced their upcoming season schedule featuring league competition, exhibition games, and tournaments.             

Competing for the fourth year in the Pennsylvania-Ohio Women’s Hockey Association (POWHA), the Fangs, the Miami Valley’s only women’s ice hockey team, are looking to hold onto their title of POWHA Lower Division Champions, which they won last season.The Fangs open their season at home against the Cleveland Heights Ice Hawks. The first game will be played at the Kettering Ice Arena at 3:30 pm on Sunday, October 4^th. The season will wrap up with this season’s POWHA playoffs held in April at The Chiller in Columbus, OH.

All home games are held at the Kettering Recreation Complex. Attendance is free and open to the public.  Dayton Fangs Women’s Ice Hockey, Inc., serves to promote, encourage, and facilitate the increased physical activity of women and girls through the sport of ice hockey. You are invited to join the Dayton Fangs in the Fight Against Breast Cancer.

The Dayton Fangs Women's Hockey Team is participating in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk. Family and Friends (female and male) are encouraged to come walk with your player or coach.

The walk starts out at Fifth Third Field on October 17, 2009. Registration begins @ 9:00a.m. and the walk begins at 10:00a.m. If you can not join us for the walk, we ask that you please donate and help us reach our goal.

You can join our strides team or make a donation by clicking on the American Cancer Society image above. If you prefer to make a donation by mail, please click on the image above and then click on any of the walkers/team members names and you can print out a form and mail it in.

Hope starts with one walker and one dollar at a time. Hope starts with our team. And hope can start with you.

Please be sure to keep your registration confirmation. Also keep the email confirmation you are sent after completing the membership application.
The cost is $35.
All Returning Players must have USAH registration completed and confirmation number email to info@daytonfangs.com by September 3, 2007.
All new players must sign up for USAH prior to stepping on the ice.
