FORMER BULLDOGS REYNOLDS AND VINCENT EARN 1ST TEAM HONORS
Mike Reynolds (San Diego City College) and Nick Vincent (Palomar College) were recently selected as 1st Team All-Leaguers for the Pacific Coast Conference. Vincent played as a freshman this year and has one more year of eligibility as Palomar's ace. Nick headed up a staff that won the crown and is headed for the state playoffs. Reynolds garnered some very high honors, as he was named the Pacific Coast Conference's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and the San Diego City College Male Scholar Athlete of the Year. Mike maintained a 3.89 GPA and is headed to play ball next year at Point Loma Nazarene. Great job guys, we are so very proud of you both!

TWO CURRENT AND FORMER BULLDOGS INK DIVISION ONE SCHOLARSHIPS!
It's official. Drew Muren and Nick Vincent have signed their letters of intent during the NCAA early signing period. Drew Muren, an All-North County and All-Valley League outfielder/pitcher, has committed himself to talent-rich Cal State Northridge. Nick Vincent, an All-State pitcher last season at Palomar College, has decided to go to perennial powerhouse Long Beach State.

Former Bulldog broadcasts ballgames for UCSB
David Griffin has continued his athletic career as the baseball radio broadcaster for the UCSB Gauchos. David was lucky enough to call 10 games this past season, including a series at USC. Click here for a clip of David's homerun calls - he had quite a bit of practice seeing all those homeruns go out of our park!!!
Nick Vincent gets his name called by the Pads!
Nick Vincent has been drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round. The junior from Long Beach State University now has the option of signing with the local club or go back to Long Beach for his senior season. He played a pivotal role out of the bullpen for the Dirtbags, who were consistently ranked in the top 10 this past season. The former Valley League Pitcher of the Year made it to Long Beach by way of Palomar Junior College, where he was a 1st Team All Pacific Coast selection for two years.
James Meador and Drew Muren are spending their summer in the Cape
Cape Cod is the site of the top collegiate summer baseball league in the nation. This league is only for the best of the best. This is where millions of dollars are made as collegiate ball players look to improve their draft stock. What an honor for Ramona High School to have two former Bulldogs playing in it at the same time. James Meador is playing for the Brewster Whitecaps, and Drew Muren is playing for the Hyannis Mets. Meador and Muren are actually not the first Bulldogs to participate in the Cape, as Neil Jamison did so during his time at Long Beach State recently.
Ramona connection to National Champion Fresno State - Galen Bowman
Fresno State, the 2008 winner of the College World Series, was once the stomping grounds of our very own Galen Bowman. In fact, he was inducted into their Hall of Fame this past season. Coach Bowman was a 1st Team All CCAA outfielder for the Bulldogs under legendary coach Pete Beiden. Click here for the Fresno State press release.

Vincent continues to shine in pro ball
Nick Vincent has picked up right where he left off at Long Beach State. Now the closer for the Class A Eugene Emeralds (Padres), he has yet to allow a run in six appearances. Opponents are batting a dismal .105 off the tough right hander. Way to go Nick! Click here to follow his progress.
Willeford commits to SDSU
Guy Willeford has committed to play ball next year at San Diego State University under head coach Tony Gwynn. Guy was a two time first team All - Pacific Coast Conference selection the last two seasons at Palomar College, where he led in nearly all offensive categories. James Meador named WCC Player of the Year
After narrowly missing the award last year, James Meador followed up a brilliant sophomore season with another outstanding year for the USD Toreros. His consistent performance landed him at the top of nearly all offensive categories in the WCC. Now James will await the outcome of the MLB Draft in a couple of weeks, in which he will have to decide to move on to pro ball or stay in college for his senior season. For his efforts, James will be introduced on the field at PetCo Park before the Cubs game.

James Meador named "Amateur Athlete of the Year"
At their annual gala, the San Diego Breitbard Hall of Champions recently named James Meador the 2009 Amateur Athlete of the Year for his stellar performance at the University of San Diego. Click on the link below to see his acceptance speech of this prestigious award. James was even fortunate enough to meet Philip Rivers backstage, as he was awaiting his award as the Professional Athlete of the Year.
Castrejon signs with the Knights
Alumni news: Jarrod Castrejon has signed a contract to play with the Corvallis Knights in Oregon this summer. The Corvallis Knights play in a collegiate wood bat league that has been called the "Cape Cod League of the West Coast" in recent years. This is quite an accomplishment and an even bigger opportunity for Jarrod. Good luck Jarrod!

Cole Sulser is raking in the accolades after his tremendous sophomore season with the Dartmouth University Big Green. Cole led the Ivy League with 8 wins without a defeat and 60 strikeouts. He was pivotal in the Big Green's Ivy League Championship, as well as their NCAA Regional appearance, in which Cole picked up the win in Dartmouth's first Regional victory in 23 years. Cole was named Dartmouth's Pitcher of the Year, Dartmouth's MVP, All-Ivy 2nd Team, and All-New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association 2nd Team. Congratulations Cole!
Alumni Report: Meador finishes historic career at USD as an All-American
James Meador has been named a third team All-American by Louisville Slugger. This follows his second consecutive Offensive Player of the Year award in the WCC. James has done a tremendous job in etching his name in almost all of USD's single season and career offensive record lists. Unfortunately, a broken hand has sidelined him during USD's playoff run and he now must patiently await the upcoming MLB draft. Congratulations James on a remarkable career at the University of San Diego!!!
In the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, the Detroit Tigers selected James Meador in the 21st round, while the Pittsburgh Pirates chose Drew Muren in round 35. With no eligibility remaining at the University of San Diego, Meador is expected to sign quickly and begin his professional career. On the other hand, Muren must decide whether to sign with the Pirates or return for his junior season at Cal State Northridge. Congratulations James and Drew, your hard work and dedication have put you in a wonderful position in your life. Well done!
Willingham named All-American & All-State!
The post-season awards keep coming in for senior southpaw Cody Willingham. Louisville Slugger recently tabbed him as an All-American Honorable Mention. Also, CalHiSports dubbed Cody as third team All-State.
Vincent punches out Ryan Braun to cap tremendous 2012 season
Nick Vincent picked a nice way to end his rookie campaign with the Padres. He held the lead and struck out last year's National League MVP Ryan Braun en route to another Padre victory. Nick played a pivotal role in the Padres' second half success, as his ERA of 1.71 was good for 2nd on the club. He also had a stretch of 14 consecutive appearances out of the bullpen without giving up a run. Vincent retires all 4 batters he faces vs. Giants
Ramona alum Nick Vincent, called back up to the Major Leagues by the San Diego Padres, returned to The Show by retiring all four batters he faced against the San Francisco Giants on Saturday night..
Vincent, beginning his fourth stint with the Major League Padres this season, returned from Tucson of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League to get the final out in the seventh inning, then retired the Giants in order in the eighth. He finished with one strikeout.
The Padres lost to the Giants 8-7.
The Ramona High School product, Palomar College's second winningest pitcher ever, was drafted and signed by the Padres out of Long Beach State in June 2008.

Drew Muren moves up to Double-A
Drew Muren has recently been promoted to the AA Corpus Christi Hooks in the Astros organization. The Houston farmhand has consistently put up solid numbers offensively and has played stellar defense (of course). He has now been rewarded for his efforts. Well done, Drew....
Willingham moves on to Abilene Christian University
Cody Willingham, who pitched the last two seasons at Palomar College, has committed to Abilene Christian University in Texas. The Division II powerhouse will be making the move to Division I in 2013/14 and compete in the Southland Conference. Congratulations Cody!
Willeford gets his name called by Kansas City
Senior shortstop Jackson Willeford has been selected in the 12th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals. Given that Willeford has a scholarship in place to the University of Arizona, it now must be determined whether he will honor his scholarship and enroll at school in the fall, or sign a professional contract with the Royals and begin a pro career in baseball. The signing deadline is July 12th. Congratulations Jackson! Well deserved....
MLB draft tabs Alex Muren
The Minnesota Twins have selected 2009 RHS grad Alex Muren in the 12th round (#370 overall) out of Cal State Northridge. The 6'4" RHP has been assigned to Fort Meyers, Florida in the Gulf Coast League. Congratulations Alex on your dream coming true....good luck!

Snodgrass earns Player of the Week honors for the Cascade Collegiate Conference
Jason Snodgrass earned a pair of wins last week to improve to 6-1 on the season for Concordia University. After picking up a road win at Simpson on Monday, Snodgrass allowed just two hits while turning in a complete-game shutout against No. 22-ranked College of Idaho on Sunday. Vincent to start season at AAA
Nick Vincent will begin the 2012 season in AAA Tucson for the Padres. Nick was making a run at the final open spot in the bullpen for the Pads when he severely sprained his ankle stepping on a ball in the bullpen before an appearance against the Reds. He had tossed three scoreless innings in the spring with four strikeouts up to that point. Fortunately however, Nick had already caught the eye of manager Bud Black...."It's a bummer for Nick," Padres manager Bud Black said. "I like Nick. He has made a solid impression this spring (pitching three scoreless innings)." Let's hope Nick heals quickly and gets back on track for success. We are all so very proud of you Nick!!!!
