TOYS FOR TOTS

CAMPAIGN BEGINS!!!! 

Super Davey kicked off his Toys for Tots campaign this week along with other volunteers at a luncheon on Wednesday.  He will be at the 3rd Annual event at the Tin Roof Cafe in Historic Downtown Villa Rica on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Along with Davey and his US Marines, Tin Roof Cafe Legends car, there will be an authentic Dale Earndardt Sr. Goodwrench #3 race car. 

Come out and donate a new unwrapped toy and have your picture made with Davey and his Legends car or the Earndardt car! 

Davey takes his toy collection to the next level

Super D spent Monday evening at the Toys for Tots warehouse in Carroll County helping Mr. Baker and his crew to sort, fill and distribute toys in the area.  Wow!  His mission to help the Marines bring toys to families has come full circle this year with work at the warehouse.  Davey was humbled with the experience of taking each family list and filling their Christmas wishes the best he could with the toys that had been donated to the program.  Carroll County alone has more than 2500 families that have requested toys this year.  Davey helped to fill over 100 orders.  He took great pride and painstaking time to select each and every gift for every member of the family on the lists he was given.  This was a great way to take time off from studying for mid terms and it really put a renewed perspective on what the Christmas holiday is about - Giving!

Super Davey partners with Kicks 101.5 and Carl Black for his last Toys for Tots Drive of the year 

Davey and his United States Marines Legend car joined Cadillac Jack & Kristin from Kicks Country radio along with Carl Black GMC & up and coming music artist, Luke Bryan for a huge show and concert to collect toys for Metro Atlanta.  Also at the event, Mr. and Mrs Claus, the Chick Fil A Cows and many many Marines including Col. and Mrs. Hardison and their family.

The fans filled up three Carl Black GMC's full of toys deeming the event a tremendous success!  This final collection point for Davey and Super D Motorsports was a great finale for his Toys for Tots "Drive for Toys" for the year.

Davey made his first Toys for Tots stop at Sparkles Skating Rink in Hiram, Georgia on Friday, pulling his United States Marines Legends race car right up front to greet the skaters and collect toys.  The kids enjoyed asking Davey about his car and how fast it would go.  He even got a few takers who climbed in the drivers seat to check it out.  The Rink offered free skating for 4 with the donation of a new unwrapped toy in addition to an autographed Community Calendar from Super Davey for the drive.  It was a huge success!  Many families came to out to take their kids skating.

Super Davey partnered with WSB NASCAR host Herb Emery at the BBQ House for a fantastic Toys for Tots Drive.  The fans showed up in overwhelming support bringing toys, toys, and more toys.   A semi truck was loaded to the ceiling with bicycles toys and anything a child could ask for.  Davey had a great time meeting all the race fans.  Capt. Herb Emery hosted his show live from there and Davey landed a "live" interview with him. 

Thanks to everyone who came out and donated and got their picture taken with Davey.  Also thanks to the United States Marines for serving our country.

Davey's next race is Friday December 14th at 6:00pm at Atlanta Motor Speedway! 

Super D will be collecting toys in Historic Downtown Villa Rica at the Tin Roof Cafe from 8:00am to 2:00pm Saturday, December 15th with the legendary and authentic Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3 Goodwrench Chevrolet race car!  Bring a toy and have your picture made with Earnhardt's car and Davey's United States Marines Legend. 

Super Davey raced into Historic Downtown Villa Rica to his favorite restaurant - Tin Roof Cafe, to continue his efforts to help the Marines collect toys for children this Christmas.  The Annual event was a huge success!  Along with Davey having his United States Marines Legend car on hand, an authentic Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3 Goodwrench race car was on display as well as friend and fellow racer, Will Martin and his #81 Precision Blasting Bandolero.

Our men who serve came dressed to represent the different uniforms of the Marines and brought along a hugh Marine display complete with a pull up bar for the Toys for Tots donors to try.  The Tin Roof Cafe, its Customers and race fans made the "Race for Toys" event fantastic by donating a total of $314.17 in cash donations and a pick up truck full of toys including 4 bicycles!  Super Davey looks forward to helping Carlis Baker and his Toys For Tots crew this Monday night distributing the toys collected to Carroll County children for Christmas.

Thanks to everyone who helped Super Davey with the Toys for Tots Drive Saturday - Shane Martin and family for bringing their Earnhardt car and bandolero for display, Patrick Henrickson and the Tin Roof Cafe for awesome food and customers, Sgt Robinson and fellow Marines for supporting the days festivities, the Villa Rican Newspaper for advertising the event, and the Times Georgian for covering it.
