RULES FOR PONY GAMES
Strict two hour time limit for all games with no new inning starting after two hours. Once an inning is started, it will be finished. Game will be considered final even if seven innings have not been completed. Extra innings are allowed to break ties, as long as they are within the two hour time limit, or not interfering with another game. If the game is still tied after time limit, the game will be continued from its latest point. It will be scheduled at the next available time slot.
The home team is listed first on the schedule.
The home team before the first game of the day is in charge of chalking the field. Please lock the blue storage bin after use. Both teams are in charge of making sure garbage is picked up and trash cans emptied after the last game of the day. Pick up the dugouts after each game. BOTH TEAMS CAN PITCH IN FOR THIS DUTY! DO NOT LEAVE GARBAGE FOR THE TEAMS THE NEXT DAY TO PICK UP. Make sure the blue shed is locked, lights are off, and the concession stand is locked after the final game of the day. Both teams can also be responsible for this.
Players may be re-entered once, this includes non-starters. Each player must play two innings in the field and have at least one at bat per game. Extra hitter can be used. If the a player has not played two innings and one at bat, this player will be subject to the rules agreed upon before the season.
No metal spikes during regular season or league playoffs. Courtesy runner for the catcher is optional. If used, must not be a player currently in the game or if only nine players, the last player to make an out.
Pitching rules are as PONY sets. 10 innings per week per pitcher, this includes high school games or any other teams a player is on. If a pitcher throws 4 or more innings, he must rest 40 hours before pitching again. No more than seven innings a day. One pitch constitutes an inning pitched. Week calendar runs Monday through Sunday midnight. Please refer to the PONY rulebook for clarification of rules.
There will be no throwing of equipment or swearing during the game. If a player, coach, or manager is ejected from the game for any reason, he will automatically serve a one game suspension to be served the next game. Appeals can be made to the board. However, the penalty is likely to be enforced, and the suspension will rarely be overturned.
When a game is rained out, it will be scheduled at the next available time slot per the league president, no questions asked. If you cannot play then, the game will be a forfeit.
If nine players are not available to play at game time, it will be considered a forfeit and not rescheduled under any circumstances even if both coaches agree. There will be no rescheduled games period unless it affects the entire league.
Never assume a game has been canceled. Umpires will decide if the field is playable if coaches cannot agree. Please contact umpires if the game is cancelled. Please let George Blough know as well.
Help Keep our Park Clean!
Teams are responsible for picking up trash from their side of the diamond after each game. If the parks department feels there is excessive trash around our diamond they will fine the league $100.00 each time.
