Two Davenport East All-Star teams opened up with losses in their respective District tournaments in Burlington on Sunday evening. In the 11-Under division, Davenport East fell to Burlington American 6-5. In the 10-under division, Davenport East fell to Burlington National 10-7. Games will continue throughout the week. Here's the schedule. All games with a vs. in the title will be held at Davenport East. Come out and support our teams!

12-Under

7/6 - East 12-A vs. Davenport Southwest, 6 p.m. 

7/7 - Davenport East 12-A at Burlington American, 6 p.m.

7/8 - Davenport East 12-A vs. Emeis, 6 p.m.

7/9 - Davenport East 12-A vs. Dubuque North, 6 p.m. 

11-Under

7/5 - Burlington American 6, Davenport East 11-A 5

7/6 - Davenport East 11-A at Burlington National, 6 p.m.

MVSC, Barron win tournament titles!

                           

Majors: No. 1 MVSC 5, No. 2 Firefighters 4 

Mississippi Valley Surgery Center squeaked by Davenport Firefighters 5-4 in the championship game of the Davenport East Little League Majors Division Tournament on Sunday afternoon!

Minors: No 1. Barron 22 vs. No. 2 Steiters 21

 In the Minors championship game on Saturday, top-seeded Barron Equipment needed a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to outlast Streiter Lincoln Mercury 22-21.

 

Majors: Mississippi Valley Surgery Center downed Suns Up 8-2 on Wednesday. Suns Up Delivery opened the tournament with a 6-3 win over Orthopaedic Specialists on Monday.

MVSC will face Firefighters, which blasted McDonalds 16-4 on Thursday. On Tuesday, McDonalds, the No. 6 seed, upset No. 3 seeded Acceleration 5-2. As the No. 2 seed, Firefighters had a first-round bye. 

Minors: Barron outlasted Running Wild 10-6 on Wednesday to advance to Saturday's championship game.  Barron got a scare in its opening-round game on Monday, but squeaked by Smit Group 7-5. Running Wild  beat Wiseguys 17-6 in its opener on Monday. In the other bracket, No. 2 seed Streiters defeated Fastenal 14-8 on Wednesday and then outlasted Northwest Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning 13-12 on Thursday. Northwest had defeated Bi-State Furniture. 

 Don't forget! Saturday is fun day for all teams! Awards ceremony will follow Saturday's games.

 

2009 All-Star Teams Announced: The 2009 Davenport East All-Star teams have been announced! We are pleased to announce that we have six teams that will be representing Davenport East this summer. Three of these teams will be competing in District play. This year's teams and coaches are as follows: Click on TEAMS on the menu to to the left to see the teams.

  • 11-Under Red: Dave Matthys (Districts)

  • 9-Under Red: Rob Langeneckert
  • 8-Under Red: John Mahon

 

SEE YOU AT THE BANDITS GAME: If you haven't had a chance to help out this year, you will definitely want to participate in this other great fund-raising opportunity. DEast supporters will again be working concessions at the River Bandits game, Friday, July 3.  We will need 40 volunteers to cover four stations. Proceeds help Davenport East Little League raise money for field improvements, equipment and other programs.
