Gerardo Flores

AKA “Coach G”, is the Director of Coaching for Daphne Strike Soccer Club since Fall 2011.  He currently holds his USSF National "D" Coaching License and is perusing his National "C". He has been a recognized coach in the area having assisted his alma mater in 2010, coached 4+ years at Fairhope High School, 2+ years with Blast Soccer Club and Head Coach at Murphy High School for the 2011-2012 season. Coach G came through the New Orleans Soccer Academy and went on to have an impressive college career at the University of Mobile. Coach G has assisted with Alabama ODP coaching and administration and manages Footy World of Soccer. Coach G has currently obtains his Director of Coaching diploma and National Coaching Diploma.

Dean Logan

Coach Dean is from Freeport, Trinidad and Tobago. Dean joins us at Daphne Strike this upcoming Spring 2013 season. Dean brings an abundance of playing experience. Dean played at the highest level in his Trinidad as a National team player. He came to Alabama in 2003 for an impressive career with the University of Mobile, to later playing a couple of seasons in USL PDL. Coach Dean, has coached at many soccer levels at the following: Blast Futbol Club, University of Mobile, Mobile Bay FC, Alabama ODP, UMS Wright, St. Paul's, McGill-Toolen, and multiple soccer camps in the area. His coaching experience makes him one of the most recognized coaches in our region. He holds his USSF National E and National D License. He is currently pursuing his USSF C License.

 

Kyle Kimbrell

A native of Gautier, Mississippi. Kyle was a stand out player in his hometown. He played for a top notch club team, ODP state team, and has just ended a stellar 4 year career at University of Mobile. This Mobile team fell just short of being named the number one team in the country at the 2012 National Tournament. Coach Kyle has been very much involved in soccer in our area. He has coached many camps and clinics and we are excited to have him join our coaching staff this spring season! Coach Kyle holds USSF E license and is pursuing his National D license.

 

Bart Markel

Coach Bart returns to us after joining us in Fall 2012. Bart is from Enterprise, AL. He grew up playing for the Montgomery Streaks Soccer Club and was a quality player for 4 years through the Alabama ODP program. He was a stand out college player at AUM and finished his college career at UAB. He currently holds his D license and is eager to attain more licenses. We are happy and fortunate to have Coach Bart on staff.

Cheryl Edgar

Coach Cheryl joins us this Spring after having a very successful fall with our younger girls (U9 &U12). With four years’ experience in coaching high school soccer, Coach Cheryl also returns for her second year as head soccer coach for UMS-Wright. She has six years' experience at the club level, two of those years served in Scotland.

Cheryl is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland. She played soccer for several club teams from a young age. Cheryl came to America on an athletic scholarship to the University of Mobile. She was captain of the women's soccer program. She gained a bachelor's degree in Human Performance and Exercise with a concentration in Education. She currently teaches lower school P.E. in the physical education department. Coach Cheryl holds her USSF E license.

Steve Morisani, Jr.

Coach Morisani coached the U10 Boys and U9 White Boys teams this past fall. In addition to his duties with the Strike, he also is an Alabama ODP staff coach, currently working with the 1999 boys' team. He holds his USSF National Y and D licenses as well as his NSCAA Advanced National and National Youth Diplomas. He also helped run the academy and was a coach for the former Blast FC (now Mobile Bay FC), has coached high school and recreational soccer in a career, which began in 1994 and includes coaching stops in both Alabama and New York. We are excited to have Coach Morisani returning to Strike for Spring.

Kyle Buxton 

Kyle Buxton, our goalkeeper coach, is a native of Stratford Ontario, Canada was the top goalkeeper at the University of Mobile from 2008-2012.  Kyle represented his country with the U15 and U20 national teams and has experience in the Premiere Development League with FC London and the Baton Rouge Capitals.  Kyle has also worked as the goalkeeper coach for the girls varsity soccer team at St. Paul’s Episcopal School.
