Our Mission

The objective of the Danville Junior Basketball League is to represent our community ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence, so that our youth may grow to be finer citizens.  It is the league’s objective to provide an opportunity for improvement in basketball skills and a “team play” mentality to all players.

The purpose of the recreational league is to teach basketball skills and develop basketball players, not outstanding teams.  The success of our recreational league should be judged on the progress of individuals rather than a team’s win-loss record.  Each coach’s role is to develop the individual to his/her greatest potential through the teaching of fundamental skills.  A coach who diverts from the curriculum in order to win games, cheats both the players and the league.

Sunday, May 1
DJBL Board Elections are May 15th!

If you have ideas on how to make our league better, the DJBL would love to see you at elections in May!

The Danville Junior Basketball League is seeking volunteers who are interested in joing the league's board.  Elections for the 2016-2017 season will be held May 15th.  Interested candidates can review a list of board positions and review the cuties of each position on the attached document.

Elections will be held May 15th beginning at 6pm.  Interested candidates will have an opportunity to discuss their ideas and explain why they would be a perfect fit for the board prior to each position's election taking place and interested candidates may run for multiple positions (but may only be elected to one).

If you have any questions about elections or positions, or to indicate interest in running for a board position/positions, please contact the league's interim president, Nick Heffley at njheff07@gmail.com.
