Our Mission The purpose of the recreational league is to teach basketball skills and develop basketball players, not outstanding teams. The success of our recreational league should be judged on the progress of individuals rather than a team’s win-loss record. Each coach’s role is to develop the individual to his/her greatest potential through the teaching of fundamental skills. A coach who diverts from the curriculum in order to win games, cheats both the players and the league. Saturday, January 21
Saturday, January 21 Games On as Scheduled
DJBL games WILL be played today. Roads in Danville are in good shape. Roads in outlying areas are passable at reduced speeds. Please leave yourself plenty of time to arrive, and don't rush if you are running late. Remember, this is a recreational league. If you feel uncomfortable driving on the roads today, or if you start in and feel driving is not safe, please do not feel obligated to attend today's games. Friday, January 20
Policy for Weather Related Delays/Cancellations
Should the ice storm affect road conditions and it is deemed unsafe by the league and school system for our boys and girls in the DJBL rec league to play their Saturday league games (or in other instances week night practices), the DJBL will post a cancellation notice on this website as well as on our Facebook "Like" page at http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/theDJBL. Thursday, November 10
Registrations for the recreational league are now closed.
Division into teams for the recreational league is in progress, and players will be contacted by a coach over the next few days. A practice schedule will be posted on the website shortly. In many cases, all of the teams in a specific league will be practicing at the same time and location, so a specific team assignment will not be needed to determine when and where your child's next practice will be held. Please check back for further information. Sunday, November 27 A new practice/game schedule is out for the next several weeks, beginning Monday, November 28. Your coach should contact you with your team-specific practice and game information. Games begin Saturday, December 3. Saturday, November 5
