The tradition continues at Admiral Stadium with the opening game for the Admirals season in the Bob Allen Pigskin Classic. This event rivals any other game played on this Saturday of August and proves to be one of the top four bowl games in the State of Kentucky, showcasing some of the finest high school football in the state. With the premier sponsorship of Bob Allen, it is truly an exciting way to "kick off" another football season.

One week prior to the game, a golf outing is held at Old Bridge Golf Club with the coaches, sponsors, well-known local and regional radio and television sportscasters. Following the golf outing is our annual "Kick-Off" Banquet held at the Danville Country Club and sponsored by Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Dinner speakers this year will be Ryan Lemond of WKYT, Kent Spencer of WTVQ, Larry Glover of WVLK and Jim Tirey of Cats Pause.   At this event, we are joined by a few members of each visiting football team and staff, queen candidates from each of the participating schools, sponsors, and volunteers that help to make the Bob Allen Pigskin Classic a huge success. It is our way of saying thank you. This time also give the teams' coaches and players a chance to talk about their individual upcoming season and expectations for their team.   

During the half-time of the Danville-Franklin Co.game, the first group of the Danville Schools Athletics Hall of Fame inductees will be presented to the community.
Tickets are $10 at the gate, $8 in bought in advance. Tickets go on sale Monday at both Danville and Boyle County High Schools' front office. Coaches cards WILL NOT be accepted.
