High School Headlines from the Dallas Rays

First Round Playoff Results:

Plano West (Eric Wald) swept their first round series vs. South Garland and will face Longview in Round 2.

Allen (Max Brown) won a single game series vs. Garland Lakeview and will face North Mesquite in Round 2.

Highland Park (Jess Barrett, Alex Flink, Johnny Todd) won their series vs. Frisco 2 games to 1 and will face Texarkana in Round 2.

Flower Mound (Coach Ray) won their series agains Grapevine (Dominic Milo) 2 games to 1 and will face Hurst Bell in Round 2.

Plano East (Tyler Wylie, Jason Barrentine) lost to Rowlett in 3 games. Tyler had a 2 RBI double in East's 3-1 win in Game 1 of the series.

Wylie (Travis Barbosa) lost to Rockwall in 3 games in Round 1.

WT White (Dylan Barth) lost to Mesquite in 3 games in Round 1. Dylan had a home run in a 5-2 Game 1 loss in the series.

Duncanville (Blake Smith) lost to Hurst LD Bell in 2 games in Round 1.

Plano West (Eric Wald) District 9-5A #1 seed will play South Garland in Round 1. Plano West is currently ranked #1 in the state and #7 in the nation.

Allen (Max Brown) - District 9-5A #2 seed will play Garland Lakeview in Round 1.

Wylie (Travis Barbosa)- District 9-5A #3 seed will play Rockwall in Round 1.

4/22/08 - Dylan Barth was 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs as WT White clinched the District 11-5A title with a 15-6 win over Molina.

4/18/08 - Alex Flink had a double in Highland Park's 11-0 district win over Greenville.

4/19/08 - Jess Barrett picked up his 6th win in Highland Park's 15-2 win over Corsicana.

4/1/08 – Gary Schneider was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles in Richardson's 5-2 district loss to Plano West.

4/4/08 - Dylan Barth had a home run and a double in WT White's 11-0 district win over Molina.

2/28/08 – Jess Barrett got another win - his 3^rdof the young season - in Highland Park’s 5-1 victory over Duncanville in the Fort Worth Southwest Tournament.

2/28/08 – Gary Schneider had 2 doubles in Richardson’s 20-10 win over Argyle in the Sherman tournament.

2/29/08 – Dylan Barth had a double in W.T. White’s 6-5 loss to Terrell.

3/1/08 – Gary Schneider had a double in Richardson’s 8-4 win over Sherman in the Sherman tournament.

Week of Feb 18

2/19/08 – Clint Strong hit the walk off single in the bottom of the 8^th in Plano’s 1-0 season opening win against Naaman Forest.

2/21/08 – Max Brown closed a 3-2 Allen loss to McKinney North with 5 strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.

2/22/08 - Jason Barrentine got the win in his first varsity start as Plano East beat North Mesquite 9-3 in the Lewisville Tournament.

2/22/08 – Clint Strong had a double in Plano’s 12 – 1 win over Mesquite.

2/22/08 – Jess Barrett got the win and Alex Flink tripled in Highland Park’s 7-2 win over Austin Lake Travis in the Austin Westwood Tournament

2/23/08 - Tyler Wylie singled in the game winning run in the bottom of the 7th in Plano East's 1-0 victory over Arlington Lamar in the Lewisville Tournament.

Scheduled for Nov. 17 - 18th at UT San Antonio -

Saturday games - 5:30Pm and 7:45PM double header

Sunday games - 10:45AM and 3:15PM

Rooms are reserved at Best Western Casa Linda (parents need to call 210-366-1800 to make specific family reservation (group name is Diamond Jaxx) cut off for reservations is Friday Nov. 2. Rate is $72.00 for double.

The Team fall showcase schedule is underway. Our next tournament is scheduled at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater - October 13 - 14th.

1st game is set for 4:15 PM at Perry HS (Ripley Field), 2nd game immediately after 3rd game is Sunday morning the 14th at 1:30PM at Oklahoma State University
