Dakota Lines: Welcome
|
Dakota Lines Softball USSSA "D" Team
Welcome to the Dakota Lines softball site!
Dakota Lines enters 2008 with a whole lot of changes. There have been several roster changes for the upcoming year. If the Dome Season is any indication of what is to come, the future looks bright. Through the first 9 games, Dakota Lines has only 1 loss. That a 2 run dissapointment to undefeated Pioneer Auto. 2nd place in the league is wrapped up with one more week to go before the Domination in the Dome tournament. And then finally OUTDOORS!!! Dakota Lines will again play in the top league in Sioux City and compete in "D" USSSA tourneys around the midwest. More to come as tournaments get announced and the roster gets updated. Check back soon!

With 4 solid teams in the bracket, it was going to be a tough day. Dakota Lines got started early and was able to hold off Pioneer Auto in the first game of the day. Peak Nutrition was up next, a team we where able to overcome in Rhonda's. Today was different and Peak was victorious. T R Siders were next, although they won Rhonda's, we never faced them. They hit and we didn't and that was the difference. Bracket play then began with T R Siders again and we were able to turn things around and come out with a win. The Championship game then pitted us against Peak Nutrition and again they were victorious. Overall a good day of softball.

Dakota Lines finished 4th place in the "C" Division for the Rhondas tournament. The tournament started out a little rough as the bats did not get going until the latter part of the first 2 games. Dakota Lines came up short against Draft House/ Max Muscle, & Custom T's Hitmen. Finally in the 3rd game they got the bats going early enough and were able to holdoff Peak Nutrition. That setup a re-match with Draft House/Max Muscle for the 4th game of the day. Dakota Lines got the early lead and never looked back. The Sunday morning game pitted Dakota Lines against a familiar foe in Pioneer Auto. The lineup and defense were juggled a little to accomodate for some missing personell. It was an offensive shootout and Pioneer Auto held Dakota Lines off 27-25. All in all a good tournament against some tough teams. Thanks to Ross Van Rooyan for helping out this weekend. Thanks also to Corey Rooney who will be playing tourneys for the rest of the year traveling in from Omaha. And of course thanks to Dwight for always being available to strap on a glove or grab a bat when we need you.

All scores and stats are up to date. Stats are just basically batting averages. All hits are marked as singles except for HR's. Some walks and all K's should be recorded as well. The tourney results and stats should be added soon. Be sure to sign the guestbook if you are stopping by. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.

Dakota Lines played their first tourney outdoors this year! They had a rough 1 run loss to start the tourney on Friday night. They battled back on Saturday to win 6 in a row, finally falling in the 1st championship game to RHS Metals out of Omaha, again by 1 run. It was a good start to the tourney season. Stats and scores to follow soon on the tournament schedule page.
