Fusion ride three game winning streak into Memorial Day

At the three quarters point of the season, and heading into the Memorial Day tournament weekend in Williamsburg, the Fusion are enjoying a three-game winning streak - all by shutouts (4-0, 1-0, 2-0). Team play is clicking, the goals have been well earned, and the defense and goaltending continues to be stellar.

Let's hope the girls can finish the season strong!

Fusion welcome two new players

The Fusion welcome two new players and their families to the team - Audrie and Liz.  We look forward to cheering for the girls!

At the same time we say goodbye and good luck to our twins, Megan and Katie, who are rejoining our U14 sister team, the CYA Cyclones, coached by our very own coach Rich.  We also say goodbye to Morgan and Ali, who are "retiring" from soccer to focus on volleyball and track & field, respectively.  We'll miss you!

Fusion overcome the Shock 2-1 to wrap up Fall 2010 Season
The Fusion wrapped up 2010 with a thrilling 2-1 win over the Reston Shock.  Aviana opened the scoring and a VERY excited Kristen ("Wheels") tallied her first game winner after the Shock had tied the game seconds before the half ended.  Way to go Fusion!

Fusion Settle the Score 2-1 with Fireballs
Making up for a dissappointing loss just one week ago, the Fusion beat an evenly matched Fireballs team 2-1 on goals from Aviana and Kayla, tough defense and team play, and an awesome PK stop from Amy E. who was great in goal.

Fusion open Fall 2010 Season with exciting win and a tie

New teammate Ally tallied the first goal and Alex tapped in the 2nd.  Then Carianne made a penalty shot save and the Fusion had luck on their side to start the season with a 2-1 win over the Reston Shock.  Excellent overall team effort for their first game of the season.

In the 2nd game of the weekend (Sunday), the Fusion jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a beautiful run by Aviana. After the SYC Xplosion tied the game,  our girls poured on pressure in the 2nd half.  Only some great goalkeeping (and a few hit crossbars) kept the Fusion from winning.  The game ended in a hard-fought 1-1 tie.
