Storm Takes 3rd at the ASA Arkansas National Invitational Tournament
The Storm traveled to Ft. Smith, Arkansas for the ASA National Invitational Tournament! There were 34 teams at the tournament from Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The majority of us arrived on Thursday and we enjoyed a dinner out with the team.
Friday morning the girls headed off to practice and many of the parents were enjoying the quiet time! When the girls returned, they were greeted in the Lobby by their sister team The Boom. The Boom girls had brought them a good luck cookie cake..Thanks Boom Girls!!

We started off Friday night by attending the opening ceremonies. All 34 teams lined up and came in front of the crowd one at a time. Most of the teams did a cheer or danced in front of the crowd. Some teams shot off fireworks and smoke bombs! The Storm didn't realize that we were going to have to do something but they came up with something quick. Coach Felicia and Mallory did cartwheels down the field and the cotton eyed joe played while the Storm chanted! Great job!

Once opening ceremonies was over we didn't play our first game until 10:30 Friday night. This tournament did not have any pool games so the girls needed to start off good! We won our first game against the Cajun Storm 10-0.
We were then able to sleep in and played the next day against the Firestarters and won 13-1.
We knew the teams would start getting harder and we had a tougher game against The Ride. The Storm defense was again on fire and we won 6-2

We then were one of the final four remaining teams without a loss. Our next opponent on Saturday night was The Ultimate. This was a battle for the girls. The Ultimate went up on the Storm 2-0 until the 5th when Maddie got a hit and was on base and Carlie C. hit her in to make the score 2-1. The Storm played tough defense and held the Ultimate until our next turn to bat. In the top of the 7th Carley R. hit a double. Sabrina got a hit and moved Carley around to third. Maddie Maddie came up and got a hit to score Carley. The score was tied 2-2 and we held off the Ultimate to push this game into extra innings. Neither team scored in the 8th so we go to the ninth. The Ultimate got girls on base and then had a girl hit a shot into right center field and scored runs. We came back and scored one more but unfortunately couldn't come back any more. The girls fought hard this game to push it to extra innings and we were very proud of them!

This put us into the losers bracket on Sunday starting at 11:00. We played the Stars and won 5-0 to start off the day!
Our next game was against The Ride who we had played yesterday. They had battled their way back up the losers bracket by beating out the Pearland Power. They now had to play us. This is hard to believe but the key word of this game was DEFENSE!!! The score was 0-0 going into the top of the 7th. Some of us were wondering how long this game was going to last!! Kiera started off the inning with a single. Carlie C. got a hit that moved Kiera around to 2nd. Emily came up to bat and got a base hit. Sheridan was up next and got a hit that drove in the winning run! Kiera scored making it 1-0. The Ride still had to bat. We got the first batter out. The next batter got a base hit and remained at first. The next batter hit a shot to left center and Charlotte came charging and made a great catch and then threw it to first to get the double play and end the game! Again, great Defense!

This then put us in the top three and we had to play The Ultimate again. Needless to say we did not fair well and we lost to this great team again.
Our sister team The Boom ended up beating The Ultimate and winning 1st. Congratulations to The Boom! Way to go Storm. Placing 3rd out of 34 teams from other states is a great accomplishment!
This was a great ending to our 8u season!

Storm Takes 2nd in Sugarland!!!
Wow what a great weekend! We proved one thing this weekend!! Our girls stayed in some hard fought games and put up a fight! This was a great tournament in Sugarland with 22 teams in our division! We made it through all our bracket games undefeated and finally game to our meeting with the only other undefeated team the Lake Jackson Elite. It was a very hard fought battle. We were down by four runs in the last inning and our girls battled back to tie the game. We were then unable to stop the Elite and they won by a run. This would have now sent us to the losers bracket to play at least two more games but guess what...Here comes the rain!!!
So with downpours of rain we stayed around to see what would happen. We were awarded 2nd place for staying in the winners bracket all the way until there were two. Congrats to Lake Jackson for their 1st place. Great job girls we are very proud of you!

Sugarland 2nd place

FIRST ANNUAL SPRING STING SUMMER BASH! STORM TAKES 2ND!!

The girls went undefeated through bracket play to make it to the championship game against the Round Rock Blaze.  We had already beaten this team earlier in the day.  It was a good battle and Round Rock won first.  The girls really stepped up their defense this weekend and played some good STORM BALL!  Thank you to the Spring Sting for hosting a great tournament!

Storm Finishes 4th in Baytown

The girls had a rough weekend in Baytown.  This was the best competition we have seen.  We played some great teams and hung in for our 4th place finish out of 12 teams.  We look forward to playing these teams again and hopefully we can bring our "A" game!

First Place for the STORM!!!!
The storm traveled to Alvin on Easter weekend for the OutRageous Easter Classic and I guess you could say we brought the storm with us! We played in the cold and drizzle for our pool and bracket games. The girls played tough and showed that they can still play well no matter what the weather or conditions are! The tournament was called(due to the weather) and because the girls had done a great job with their pool and bracket games we were awarded 1st place!! Way to go Storm!!
