Central Virginia Youth Roller Hockey League: Equipment List

Below, you will find the list of required equipment and recommendation on where to go to get the equipment.

There are MANY families that have played hockey in Richmond.  If you know someone, ask them if they have old equipment they would be willing to give or sell you.  It can make it much less expensive to get started.  Before you buy new equipment, make sure they like the sport (chances are they will!).

Play-It-Again Sports carries new and used equipment.  The Play-It-Again just off of Hull Street (near Brandermill) carries a bigger selection since it is connected to an inline hockey rink.

Our main webpage has a link to Epuck.  Epuck is a great online retailer for inline equipment.  We have found that their prices and service are as good as any.  Our league also gets a kickback from them for each purchase that is made IF you access their website from the link on our main webpage.

Equipment

Required:
Helmet
Mouth Guard
Elbow Pads
Gloves
Shin Guards
Skates
Stick
Pants (hockey pants recommended because knees are re-enforced)

Optional:
Inline girdle (protects the butt when you fall)
Padded shirt (provides some protection for the upper body)

The optional equipment is just that, optional.  A small percentage of our players use them.  It adds a little more protection for those that are looking for it.  If your child is new to skating, the girdle does soften the falls a bit.
