2006 Winter Season Champions!
|
In the squirt league, the Piranhas finished the regular season in 1st place with a record of 7-1-2. They gave up a league low 22 goals in 10 games and scored 47. The Piranhas won the tournament championship in dramatic fashion with a 2-1 overtime win over the Snappers. The Snappers, who finished the regular season in 6th place, came alive during the post-season! They won back to back games to reach the championship game and then took the game into overtime. What a turnaround for that team! The Snappers were lead in scoring by Matthew Tebbens. Matthew scored a end of season tournament high of 8 goals. The Snappers also received points from Tyler Williams (3 G), Luke Scavola (1 G), Trevor Davidson (1 G, 2 A), Sam Vehorn (1 G), and Will Bondurant (1 A). The Piranhas were lead in scoring during the playoffs by Zach Pierce. Zach scored 3 goals and had 1 assist. The Piranhas also received points from Ben Talman (2 G), Logan Davis (1 G), and Dylan Cecil (1 G).
In the Peewees, the River Rats finished the regular season in 4th place with a 5-5 record. During the playoffs, the Rats had to defeat 3 teams that included the top 3 scorers in the league (a combined 139 points for those 3 players!) and that included both the regular season 1st and 2nd place teams. In the championship game, the River Rats played the Vipers. In the tournament, the Vipers were lead in scoring by Joey Brissette (9 G, 4 A) and Mark Reisenweaver (7 G, 2 A). The Vipers also received points from Daniel Glymph (1 G, 3 A), Nick Reisenweaver (2 G, 2 A), and Michael Coss (1 G), and David Lawson (1 G). The River Rats were lead in scoring by Tyler Valasek (14 G, 2 A). The Rats also received points from Jamie Garrett (1 G, 2 A), Ben Talman (2 A), Jessie Hazzlewood (3 G, 1 A), Zach Stuart (1 G), Jason Holmes (1 G), and Shawn Littlejohn (1 A).
In the Juniors, the Phantoms took the tournament championship. During the regular season, the Phantoms gave up the fewest goals in the league, were 2nd in scoring out of 10 teams, and finished in 1st with a record of 8-1-1.
Last, but not least, the Senior division saw the Cyclones take 1st place in the regular season and also take 1st place in the playoffs!
