Starting up 16U team this weekend - we will have short practice and meeting Sunday Aug 30 5pm at Chula Vista High School. We will discuss new name and we will wear Orange. First Tourney I'm looking at is Sep 26-27, we will play 1 tourney per month - 2 if winterball doesn't interfere. Keep schedule up until high school season begins and then start right up again after high school season is over. Cost is going to be $100 - $150 (plan is for that to cover unis and first tourney). Most tourney's for 16's cost $695 so we are looking at something in the range of $50-75 per tourney.

Sunday, February 1
Outstanding pitching by Robert, Kevin, Piri, Jorge, Izaac and Marcos leading to the victory. Kevin led the offense getting on base 5 times, 4 walks and double and scoring 3 runs, Piri got on all 4 times with 3 walks and single and had 3RBI, Izaac had 2 hits and scored 2 runs, Robert had hit and drove in 2 runs, German 2 hits and RBI. Danny walk, German hit and Abraham swinging bunt got led to big 4th inning where we scored 6 runs. Defense was solid Marcos and German couple nice plays at 3B, Danny nice play 2B, Jorge really nice job at catcher, guy was out on the steal and nice stretch on 1st. Kevin nice play in CF and Robert almost throwing guy out at home.
Sunday, January 18
Game 1: Spartans 12 Western Baseball 5
Brandon led offense 2 hits including triple, 2runs and 3RBI, Alec beat out 3 infield hits, Kevin/John had 2RBI. German led the rally in 4th with single and run. Izaac pitched 3 strong innings allowing no earned runs, Joel finished out game with 2 innings getting the win. Solid defense by Joel at 3B, John SS, Robert 1B and Joey throwing out 2 runners.
Game 2: Spartans 9 Green Sox 16
Great job not giving up, battled to make it a game. Robert/Kevin 2 hits, Piri 2RBI, Austin long double,2RBI. Robert 2 strong innings of pitching to keep us within range. We only gave up 6 hits, get rid of walks/errors and we win.
Game 3: Spartans 7 Cyclones 3
John rebounded with great pitching throwing complete game allowing only 1 earned run and no walks. Austin,Kevin,Robert and Alec all had 2 hits as we had 13 for the game. John got on base all 3 times with 2RBI. Joel got on 3 times also. Great plays by Kevin and Alec in OF.
3rd Place Game: Spartans 8 Western Baseball 0
Piri led offense getting on 4 times including triple and 2RBI. Austin scored 3 runs. Joel had 3 hits. Kevin 2hits, 2RBI runs. Alec 2hits, 2RBI. Robert on base 3 times outstanding at 1B. Austin 4 innings of shutout ball getting the win with 6 strikeouts, Izaac getting save with 2 innings of shutout ball. John 2 nice plays at SS, Kevin 2 nice catches early in game, Austin nice play at 1B and Joey threw out 2 stealers.
