What a great year for the Pop Warner organization.
REGION AND BOWL GAMES A LOOK BACK AT 2005 & 2006 !
Our Carl Deane Division CV Steelers ran into a great football team from NC. The Capital City Steelers won the game 28-8. The Capital City Steelers lost to the Churchland Tigers in the Regional JM Finals and we wish the Tigers from the South Eastern Virginia Conference good luck in Orlando.
Our Carl Deane Division CV Chiefs defeated the Forsyth County Broncos 33-0 in the Apple Bowl in NC.
Our Frank Kessler Division Jets played a tough team from Columbia SC but our CV Jets came out on top 14-6 and advanced to the Region semi-finals but came up short against a team from South Eastern VA - The Tigers, losing 26-6. The Tigers advanced to the Regional Finals but came up short against the Wake Forest Titans, from NC.
Make no mistake... All of our young men and their coaches made us proud.
Eight teams advance to Disney from the Mid-South Region - Four DI and Four DII JPW,PW,JM & Midget teams -They are matched up against the seven other national region DI & DII teams in Orlando. Five teams from North Carolina and three from Virginia - are in the hunt for the National Championship. We wish all of those teams good luck in Orlando! For all of the06 results click on this link-

This following is a summary of last years Football National Championships. Congratulations to every team that has played in Orlando for a National Championship from all of us in the Central Virginia Pop Warner Football Conference. Someday we hope to join the list.
2005
Day one of DI games on December 4th and D II - day one games on December 6th the Mid-South was looking good. Defence was the name of the game for the DI - JPW VA. Beach Mustangs they won 32-0, the DI PW Winston Salem Indians, from NC won 12-0. The DII - JPW Wake Forest Titans won 14-0. The DII Stanley Blue Devils took a different approach and showed the Mid-South could score some points - they won 53-27. The DII Midget Capital City Steelers from NC played tough and won 28-14. Time to get ready for round two. Both of our JM teams DI and DII came up short in round two, as did one of our DI Midget teams. The Manassas Mutiny team from Virginia, the Southwest Cardinals and the Lewisville Titans from NC. Now These three teams were busy regrouping to get ready for their consolation games. Trying to bring home one more win for the Mid-South.
Round two games were played Wednesday December 7th. The Va. Beach Va lost a tough one 8-6. and that puts CA. & FL. playing for the DI JPW National Championship. Our Winston Salem Indians lost a heartbreaker 14-12 and that put TX. & MD in the DI PW Finals. In the JM Division the Comets from TX edged out the only CA team not advancing to the DI title game 13-10 but Florida has team number two in the DI finals the Liberty City Warriors. The DI Midget team the Columbus Browns from OH lost to the Eagles from MA. The MA team goes on to play yet another CA team in the finals. The Oak Grove Eagles. CA has a team in the DI JPW, PW and Midget Finals. Congratulations to the Manassas Mutiny team from Virginia they came back strong and won their consolation game 34-0 way to go Virginia!
The Mid-South claims a D II Tomlin Division JPW National Title. The Wake Forest Titans from NC. made a strong showing and won 29-6. The JPW Westgrove Redskins from FL claimed the JPW Warner National Title. Teams from Hawaii and Maryland claimed the PW Tomlin and Warner DII National Titles. Our Mid-South Stanley Blue Devils, from NC. had a great year they just came up short against the tough team from Maryland. In the DII JM Division the Charm City Buccaneers from Maryland won the Tomlin National Title and the East Manatee Bulldogs from Florida flexed their muscles and won 40-14. Our Mid-South Lewisville Titans won their consolation game 6-0. The DII Midget Tomlin National Champions are the Manatee Mustangs from Florida and our Capital City Steelers from NC are the DII Warner National Champs with a 33-0 win bringing the Mid-South its second National Title.
The DI National Champions were crowned Saturday December 10, 2005 the final day of competition. The JPW Mandarin Tigers and the JM Liberty City Warriors both Florida teams made the Sunshine State proud. The Hyattsville Hawks from Maryland are the PW Champs and the Midget DI Championship was a tough game but the Oak Grove Eagles from California beat the Dorchester Eagles from Massachusetts 6-0.
