TEAM RULES FOR THE 2008 CV JM JETS THE FALCON CLUB

TEAM RULES

There are three excusable reasons to miss practice: One a family commitment or situation. Two an academic reason and three an injury. In most cases if you are injured we still want you at practice. The rule works like this. If you are going to miss practice you the player must call Coach Ware at 953-WARE or 953-9273 -leave a message so I know what happened. When you return to practice you must explain your absence and the coaching staff will vote to determine if the excuse is excusable.

If you tell our parents you need to complete a paper for school due in on Thursday on Wednesday night and you miss practice for that academic reason I Coach Ware reserve the right to call your teacher and find out when that paper due was assigned. If you were given the assignment a week in advance but waited till practice night to do it that would not be an excusable absence.

If you miss one practice you will sit out one quarter of the game and you will be listed on the MPR sheet as disciplined and you may not meet your required number of plays in the game. If you miss two practices you will sit out a half. No practice -no game. If keeping a player out of a game would cause the number of elegible players below 16 the player would sit out the next game that did not destroy the game for all players.

Breaking the training pledge could result in suspension from the team or missing a game. If your grades fall below your parents expectations we ask that the Parents consider what effect leaving the team would have on the team. Give us a chance as a team to help an academically challenged student before pulling them off the team.  Help me teach the team -if a family rule is broken and you must pull a player from our team to teach him a lesson please help me pass the lesson along to the team -so it is understood how the actions of one player can effect your whole team.

If you were told by a Dr. you need to sit out due to an injury I will require a written clearence from the Dr. to return.

No Parents are allowed anywhere near the weigh ins each week. According to the rule book I am responsible for the behavior of every Parent from my team during the games and at the fields during a Pop warner Scheduled event. Therefore this is my policy. I will give you a warning if I feel your conduct is not acceptable.  If the behavior is not acceptable beyond that I will pull your child from the game and send someone to ask you to leave. If there is any, yes any disturbance beyond that point I will call 911 and ask the athourities to remove you from the field. You would not think this would be something I would need to say but last year I was personally threatend by a parent during a game between the JPW Cowboys and Steelers. Sad but true.

TEAM PARENT NEEDS HELP

We need the following schedules made and volunteers from our team to take care of the following; Heather Phelps has stepped up to volunteer as the team parent. She will help me communicate with the Parents of the team so that I don't take time away from the players, She has helped me by finding a volunteer to video tape practices, scrimmages and games and she has started a group to help organize game snacks and drink.

She has found a Dad willing to be our MPR monitor-this is a very important job. It will insure that the other team is playing all of its players the mandatory number of plays in every game.

Heather I appreciate your help and our whole team is glad to have you as Team Parent.

Game snack schedule - I would like to have Orange slices for the players to eat at halftime of every game. Heather is making out a schedule to take us through October 26th please check wih her.

We will need to keep a concession schedule: we will be asked to send two volunteers to help in the stand every week -the schedule will have us working the game before or after ours. Not during. We want you out cheering the team on during our games.

The Central Virginia Pop Warner Football Confrence will hold some sort of League wide fundraiser - we want tpo be leaders in that effort not just participants.

We will have our own personal fund-raising event where our team will ask local businesses for donations to assist our players in paying for a post season bowl game trip. You have to ask -you never know. They are supporters of the Cowboys but last year I rode to the regional game on the bus paid for by Allied Concrete - we need to find support like that.

We need to raise at least $620.00 from local businesses to cover our players that requested financial aid.

If our team raises enough money with our own team fund-raising drive we could put it towards our banquet at the end of the year. All monies raised will go to the CV Pop Warner general fund when the year is over. However if we secure a donation of $5,000. for a bus and hotel rooms to attend a Post season Bowl game the Conference will allow the donation we raised to be used towards the needs of our teams trip.

MPR Volunteer Required

We must find a Parent that will act as our MPR Monitor. That person will be given a sheet each week and will go to th eoposing teams sideline to make sure all players on the team play the required number of plays each game.

I have done it during Regional games and it isn't a difficult task as long as you have a good representative from the other team helping you.

We will asign one of our coaches to work with the oposing teams MPR monitor each week.

VIDEO PARENT

The Coaches are looking for someone that enjoys video taping. We would like to have someone video tape the game on Sunday and by Sunday night be able to watch that video to get ready for practice on Monday.

CAN YOU HELP? WE NEED THE VIDEO PARENT! PLEASE STEP UP!

I would like to have some film of kids at practice so I can point out things they need work on. it is hard to catch everything when you are looking at 21 players.
