| Registration begins as soon as the Head Coaches are named each year after the Annual Membership Meeting held the third Thursday in January. Move up and returning players are contacted by coaches to find out what their intentions are for the upcoming season. Returning and move up players are asked to mail in paerwork and payments or attend the open registration in March and bring all paperwork to that open registration. Coaches and returning players are asked to seek out new players and encourage them to sign up and bring in or mail all paperwork and pay at the Open registration held in March. Central Virginia Pop Warner allows up to but no more than 30 football players per team. Returning players get first priority. (all paperwork & payment forms for returning players are required for them to secure a roster spot. Move up players are taken on the team second (all paperwork must be in and payment made for move up players to secure a spot on the roster) If there are still spaces available the new participants that have turned in all paper work and have paid are put into a pile and by a random selection process players are selected to fill the roster. All players must sign up in the boundary areas set for their teams. If you have questions regarding boundaries contact any Director or Head Coach. It is very important to check the participants weight prior to signing up and you must fall into the weight parameters. Any participant weighing more than six pounds over or three pounds under the required weight for his/her football division is not allowed to sign up. In the event all teams do not have 30 players after the open registration the Registration committee will continue to take mailed applications / Coaches, Parents and Players are encouraged to seek players until such time every team is full. If an areas team is full all mailed in applicants for that area are contacted and given the option to play on any team we have that isn't full. If they choose not to be on any of those teams there membership application is voided and their payment is returned. This process is ment to achieve all teams having the same number of players on their rosters and keep registration for all teams open to all that meet the divisions we are offering requirements. Paticipants that come to us and meet those requrements can play and it takes away any possibility of selecting one student over another based on knowledge of athletic ability. Make sure when your childs year end report card comes in this summer you get a copy of it ready for your Head Coach. YOUR REPORT CARD IS REQUIRED TO BEGIN PRACTICE. Schedule those Physicals early (required to begin practice)and use the required Pop Warner Physical forms. EACH PARTICIPANT IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A PHYSICAL SIGNED BY A PHYSICIAN THE PHYSICAL MUST BE SIGNED AND PERFORMED IN 2009 OR IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
