Gene Ware - President, David Dickerson - Commisioner of Football, Myrna White -Treasurer, Lynn Cason -Eligibility Agent (Officers) & and Theresa Clay, Niel Williams, Dan Haan, Jeff Willy & Tom Mullin  will serve on the Central Virginia Pop Warner Football Conference Board of Directors for the upcoming season until the next election in January of 2009. Week two we are at STAB again and it is team PHOTO DAY!Teams should build at least 15 minutes into their gameday routine for individule and team photos.

Our JPW (JOE BINGLER DIVISION) & JM(CARL DEANE DIVISION).

1. Juniour Pee Wee (JPW) our Joe Bingler Division  For ages  8,9 & 10 ( the participants age is the age he or she is on August 1 2008) Weights are  at least 60 pound but no more than 105 pounds. 11 year olds can play that weigh 60 pounds but no more than 85 pounds.

2. Junoiur Midget (JM) our Carl Deane Division  Same dates apply for age  - For ages 10,11 & 12  the weights are at least 85 pounds but no more than 135 with the same 3 & 6 pound rule for registration -13 year olds that weigh at least 85 but no more than 115 pounds are eligable for this JM division.

Divisions of play offered in 2009 will be announced pending a plannong meeting with all coaches and Parents prior ro the end of the 2008 season.

Pop Warner enthusiasts we have added an additional Albemarle County JM team.  The 2008 JM JETS will serve as an overflow team. Albemarle High School you should contact the Steelers. Once they reach a full roster status the additional interested student athletes will be able to play for the JETS.The same applies for Western Albemarle players and the Chiefs and the Moticello High School players and the Broncos If your child would attend Charlottesville High  you can be a Jet call ASAP!

SCHOLASTICS: Your Head Coach is required to have your year end report card before you get equipment! Team Parents be prepared to bring all player report cards with you to the first team practice in August. Get the full story in Article *4 below on this homepage.

CHEER REPORT:
Cranbarry the official cheer uniform supplier for Pop Warner gave us tremendous support in our efforts to provide cheer squads in 2008.  Newspaper Ads, Flyers, Posters and hundreds of e-mails were placed over a six month time frame and unfortunately we did not get the adult volunteers our Directors felt we needed to offer a quality cheer program in 2008. We will attempt to offer a cheer program in 2009
Please submit all potential leaders for this program to any Director -help get our cheer program going in 2009.

Every coach is committed to making sure each team is full contact any coach or Director if you have a child that wants to play. Teams will have a minimum number of players (25) per team. Coaches may carry as many as 30 players... CV PW feels more than 30 players per team hurts instruction and puts a strain on the coaching staff to give each participant the attention they deserve. 35 per team is the maximum number per team allowed by Pop Warner rule.

In Fluvanna, Nelson, Madison, Orange, Louisa Buckingham and Amherst  Counties you should get in touch with Gene A. Ware 434-953-9273  - regarding the Pop Warner teams that will be offered in your counties in 2009. If you want to play in our Conference this year the only guidelines for what team you must play for are as follows: Madison & Orage must play on a Jet team. Fluvanna, Louisa, & Buckingham must play on a Bronco team. Nelson and Amherst may play for any team as long as the participant can meet the scheduled practices.

Step up to the plate and lets have six new JPW teams in 2009 Buckingham , Fluvanna, Louisa, Orange, Madison and Nelson JPW team in 2009!

CHALLENGER DIV:
There is a very unique program we feel could go over big in our area ... The Pop Warner Challenger Division. It requires the dedication of  people willing to give it some time and our CV Pop Warner Directors are willing to help -take a minute to review the information below in Article*12 below on this homepage.

The key element to our program is our Head Coaches. We put a lot on there shoulders and they need your help. Each team should have Assistant Coaches, Team Parent, Team Administrator, Team Trainer and Team Equipment Manager all doing everything possible to help the Head Coach. Coaches will need those people to take charge of the League fundraiser,  finding the right parent to be the MPR Monitor (mandatory play rule) parent needed from each team and concession leaders. A Calander will be posted with dates and times for 2008 training for Head Coaches and Team Adminastrators.

Under CV Membership Forms and More you will find a number of forms - take a look at them. There is a Parent survey we want you to complete that grades your Head Coach and a survey for players to complete. It helps us evaluate our Coaches and helps our Coaches know how they are doing.  By Pop Warner rule all Coaching positions are terminated at the end of each season. The new Directors will assign the 2008 Coaching positions in January. When our Coaches win awards (see Article*10 below on this homepage) like the Falcon Club Youth Coach of the Year Award we feel we must be doing a good job selecting Head Coaches. Our hats are off to the real leaders of the CV Pop Warner Football Conference -Our Head Coaches! Please help them through the paperwork, equipment distribution and volunteer search part of the season -they need you!
