"HITS AND RUNS, BUMPS AND BRUISES"

Health, Safety and Injury Prevention are the Keystone of Little League.  For more than a half-century, Little League International has maintained extensive records on injuries in games and practices.  In many cases, these changes have eventually been adopted in other youth baseball and softball programs, as well as professional baseball.

For the first time, Little League International has produced a comprehensive report on the history of Little League's efforts and accomplishments regarding the wellbeing of its participants and volunteers.

We invite you to review this important document, produced by Little League International Communications Division in the attached "Handout".

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL ADOPTS CHANGE IN LEAGUE AGE DETERMINATION DATE.
Little League Baseball has adopted a new league age determination date for its players starting in the 2006 season.  Starting in 2006, the date in all divisions of Little League Baseball will be April 30 of the current year.  For more than 55 years in Little League that date had been July 31.  The chief reason is so that most players on a team will spend the majority of the regular season at the same chronological age as their league age.  For more information, along with questions and answers, double click on the above headline which will take you to the Little League newsletter.
