2008 OPENING DAY
Balloons

As We celebrate our 50 Year Anniversary in 2008, our Opening Day Activities which were held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 were a huge success, despite the uncertain weather during the day.  The parade kicked off the ceremonies, as we wish to thank the Clinton Township Fire Deparment for leading the teams at the start of the parade with one of their hook and ladder trucks.  The teams gathered on the infield and outfield and were led in the citing of the Little League Pledge by Mr. Ron Decoopman, Michigan District #6 Little League Administrator.  The national anthem was played and the ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Mr. Robert Cannon, Clinton Township Supervisor to Mr. Ron DeCoopman, as Ms. Linda Walters, Clinton Township Parks and Recreation Director made the call behind home plate.

The winners in the team banners competition were The Grasshoppers (T-Ball), The Rockhounds (Coach Pitch), The Orioles (Minor Division) and The Cardinals (Major Division).  Congratulations to the winners and all of the teams as there were many outstanding banners.

The winners in the Team Skills Competition were The Muckdoge (T-Ball), The Riverdogs (Coach Pitch), the Orioles (Minor Division) and The Rays (Major Division).  Congratulations on a job well done.

Some pictures of the days events are now posted in the "Album Page".  If anyone has pictures that they would like posted on the web-site, please e-mail them to cvll@hotmail.com.

A special thanks to our Sponsors of this ceremony.  For a complete listing please see the attached "Handout".

Thank you to everyone for attending and helping us in our celebration of 50 years of Little League Baseball in our community.
