Summer Ball Begins Saturday July 18th

The 2009 Summer Ball season will begin on Saturday, July 18th.

We would like to thank everyone for your patience with us this season and hope that once the season is underway the delay in our getting information to you will be forgotten by the great times on the field.

All of the managers have been contacted and given their rosters.  The managers are meeting at Marshall Fields on Friday July 17th, 2009 between 6 pm and 7 pm to pick up their equipment, T shirts and hats for the players.  Players are encouraged to wear baseball pants from their regular season.  If a child does not have pants they can be purchase at West Coast Sporting Goods in San Leandro (1855 Alvarado Street).

The shirts and hats will be distributed at the games.

Batting helmets may be provided however we do recommend that every child have their own.  On opening day we will have some used helmets for anyone that would like to have one of their own...for free.  They will be placed between Fields 1 and 3 against the steel container. Again, batting helmets can be purchased at West Coast if you would like to have a new one of your own.

If you do not have baseball pants or helmets by opening day, please do not let that stop you from coming out.  This is a fun, recreational league meant to give kids a chance to play more baseball after the regular season is over.

When visiting Marshall Fields please be considerate to the neighbors.  Obey the speed limits and do not park in or near their driveways as to obstruct thier use.  Do not litter. This is their home and we are only visiting. Also, the parking lot is reserved for Managers and Board Members only.  Do not use the parking lot to drop off or pick up children.  There is a white loading zone in front of the Snack Bar on the street for drop off and two handicap spots as well in front of the Snack Bar.  There is also another handicap spot for use on Alana one house up from Omega.

Lastly, have fun.  Atta boy, good job and way to go should be the cheers from the stands. Do not coach you son or daughter from the stands.  Let the managers and coaches inside the backstops do that.

We still have room in the C Division (7 & 8 year olds) so anyone wishing to player should register as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hestitat to contact me directly.

See you at the fields.
