Report from meeting - March 16th, 2007
~
1) Officers for the 2007-08 season

President: Jim Myronyk
Vice-President: Carole Auger
Sec'y-Treasurer: Marg Willis

2) Agreed that we keep fees at $16 and absorb the small bowling fee increase (approx $.23 per bowler per night)

3) Agreed to start 2007-08 thirty (30) week schedule on Sept. 7th, 2007 and take no time off at Christmas -- playoff night will be March 28th, 2008

4) Suggestion that we use a 7 point system (as opposed to the current 8) (not much support) - also suggested that we go to a 4 person team format and have possibly more teams (lane availability would be a problem - not much support) - thus, current format will continue

5) Windup at Robbie's on St Laurent (March 30th, 2007)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Annual General Meeting for ALL CDTBA bowlers - Tuesday, April 17th -- 6:30pm at McArthur Lanes -- tournament awards (and $$) will be given out -- light refreshments served!!

Sadly........
I have just heard that Mati Maelde passed away last night (Friday, Feb 2nd, 2007) - so sorry that our card (letting him know we were all thinking of him) was a bit too late -- Mati bowled many years in the City View Commercial league (as well as several other leagues) and was always a joy to have around - our sincere sympathy to Janet and all of the family

We will truly miss you, Mati .....

Sadly, we must say goodbye to our good friend, Wayne Sheehan, who passed away on Sunday, June 18th, 2006. He was a truly a bright light at the bowling lanes - always a smile and a joke for everyone. Our sincere sympathy to his fiancee, Cathy Waito, her daughters, to Wayne's sons and daughter, his mother, and all of the family.

Sadly, we have lost another member of our league - Raymonde Beaudoin succumbed to a massive stroke Friday a.m., January 21st, 2005. Her team, 'The Queen Bees', had been expecting her at bowling that night. She will be dearly missed by them and all the rest of the City View Commercial bowlers. Our sincere sympathy goes out to her family --

Our donation, in her memory, has been sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation -- thank you, everyone --

President - Graham Ginsberg
Vice-President - Nicole Fetzko
Association Manager - Ed Zabarauskas
Board Members - Mark Gehring, Claude Dumoulin, Murielle Rivers, Pierre Gratton, Marg Willis

May Bullard, who succumbed to cancer on Tuesday, February 11th, 2003 in her 81st year with her six children by her side. We cannot begin to express how much she will be missed by all her bowling friends - she was an extremely tough competitor and could always be counted on to get that much needed strike or spare in order for her team to win the game. She last bowled on January 17th and, much to her delight, helped her team to win 8 points against one of the all male teams.

Our deepest sympathy to her family -

We will forever miss you, May ---

Lyle Massender, our 'friendly giant' and league president, who suffered a fatal heart attack at the lanes on Friday, Jan. 11, 2002.
Heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife, Heather, daughter Audrey-Marie, and the rest of his family. We will all dearly miss our 'big teddy bear' and will always remember his last bowling shot (a strike) and his final game of 224.
Missing you forever, Lyle --
