Conval Cal Ripken Baseball

Welcome to the Conval Cal Ripken website.  CVCR recreation youth baseball is available to boys and girls, ages 5 through 12, in the towns of Antrim, Bennington, Dublin, Francestown, Greenfield, Hancock, Peterborough, Sharon, and Temple.

You'll find divisions, teams, schedules and other important information regarding CVCR on this site.   For team or town specific questions, please contact your coach or town rep.  For any other general league questions, feel free to email me at mcgrathlumber@hotmail.com

Thank you to all the volunteers, coaches, and umpires who devote their time to youth baseball in the Conval district.  We couldn't do this without you!

All Star Tryouts

All Star tryouts will be held next weekend (5/24, and 5/25).  Please find the attached form that must be filled out and signed by parents prior to their kids participating in tryouts.

As some of you already know, All Stars is a competitive travel program we make available each year to all current minors and majors to tryout for.  Our goal is to have a team in the 9yr, 10yr, 11yr, and 12yr divisions, however player #'s, abilities, and coach volunteerism plays a major part in the decision as to what age groups or mixes we will field.  This decision will be made once tryouts are completed.

Once kids have tried out, and teams have been picked, selected rosters will be posted on our league website.  Please remember, this is a competitive league, where playing time, positions, etc., are determined by the coaches based on player ability, attitude, and performance, not by any minimum play time rules like we have in our league.

Cost for this year will be $125 which will include a hat, shirt, socks, and belt (kids need to supply their own solid gray pants).  This payment is due before you child can start playing.  Kids will compete in the Cal Ripken district/area tournaments, and of course the states and beyond if they make it.  It also includes a $350 budget for a second invitational tournament of the coach's choice.  If teams want to go to additional tournaments , or schedule other games with surrounding leagues, that is also fine, and is up to the coach and parents to fundraise, setup, etc.

The cut off date for Cal Ripken age is whatever you child was on May 1st 2014.  8yr olds may try out for the 9's if they are currently playing Minors for this season.  If they are playing rookies this season, they are not eligible.

Tryout times are as follows, and I have listed some of the folks that will be helping.  Please have your form filled out, and your child ready to go for the start times of tryouts.  If you are a coach and are interested in helping out, let me know.  All coaches must be Cal Ripken online certified and rostered with our league.
