Rox was Bigger and Rested, defeat Sabres 6-4
The Sabres U10 Boys were defeated yesterday by a larger, more rested Roxborogh team. In the game, Joey Iannacone had three goals and Chase Nasife chipped in the final goal. Despite our efforts, we just couldn't catch up with the Rox boys on the score. The final was 6-4.
Roxborogh had a full squad to sub in and out on their very large indoor field. We've been carrying a short squad, that allows us to get everyone in for extended periods. I do my best to get them in and out when I see they are tired or not moving around. It is a disadvnatage at that field to have a short squad. Luckily for us, we will not be back there again this year. We had some great opportunities to score, as many as four or five that were dead on. It could have easily have gone the other way. We'll get 'em next time.
There are seven games left to go in the season. We have two against Torresdale, Houston and Bridesburg and one against Roxborogh. This game is still very exciting and even more of a blast than I ever expected. It is fun to watch them having fun playing and they are gaining valuable experience with every touch.
So see you at next Sunday afternoon's game as the 2-1-2 Sabres take on the 5-0-1 Torresdale Tornadoes. Game-time is at 4:00 PM at Jardel
