Cupertino Girls Softball League: Spring 2006 Divisions
6-Under (6U)Players born in 2002 and 2003.
This division is designed to teach girls the basic fundamentals of softball. Girls begin by hitting softballs from the tee and quickly progress to hitting softballs pitched from a coach. Everyone bats and plays the field in each inning so that girls can develop good sportsmanship and team spirit. Mainly this division is for girls to have fun while getting a chance to play the game!
8-Under (8U)
Players born in 2000 and 2001.
This division helps girls learn their softball skills. Batters will have a chance to hit from a player pitcher in addition to coach pitching. Everyone plays to develop good sportsmanship and to have fun!
10-Under (10U)
Players born in 1998 and 1999.
This division provides a chance for girls to play a more competitive level of the game and learn more advanced skills, such as, stealing, sliding and bunting. Players pitch regularly, but relief coach pitching is still a part of the game in our recreational league at this level.
12-Under (12U)
Players born in 1996 and 1997.
This division is for girls to play in a more competitive environment with girls their own age level. The division follows most ASA championship guidelines appropriate for this age level. However, we continue to have all players batting in the line-up and keep an open defensive substitution policy. All girls should have lots of fun playing on their team and continue to make friends.
Combined 14-Under and 16-Under (16U)
Players born in 1992 - 1995. This division combines 14U and 16U players. This division is for girls to play in our league’s most competitive environment, yet still play in a recreational, "everyone plays" league. The division follows most ASA championship guidelines appropriate for this age level. There is an open substitution policy on defense.
