Helpful Hints in Preparing Game Summaries:

1) Always include final score.
2) Be relatively brief (one or two paragraphs)
3) The second time a player is referenced in the writeup, use the player's last name only (unless the player has a sibling on the team).
4) Make sure that accomplishments for both teams are mentioned in the writeup.
5) When exchanging lineups before the game, please give opposing manager a sheet with correct spelling (both first and last name) of your players.
6) For consistency reasons use the abbreviations listed below when referring to statistics.

Hitting Abbreviations:

R - Runs; H - Hits; 1B - Singles; 2B - Doubles; 3B - Triples; HR - Home runs; BB - Walks; RBI - Runs Batted In

Example: The Pirates were led offensively by John Smith (1B,2B,3RBI) and Steve Jones (3B,2R).

Pitching Abbreviations:

IP - Innings Pitched; R - Runs; BB - Walks; H - Hits; K - Strike outs

Example: The Red Sox received excellent pitching from both Kelly Wall (2IP,R,4K) and Beth Carter (3IP,3R,2BB,3K).
