High School Athletic Participation Forms are Due
Pinellas County Schools (PCS) Athletic Participation form, FHSAA Physical form, and Proof of Student Insurance must be turned in to Mrs. Biddle by Friday Sept. 4. The Winning Inning L1 & L2 Fall Baseball Starts September 7, 2009
The cost is $195.00. TWI waver and Parent/Player Contracts must be turned in to Coach Vince during the first week of school. Do not sign up at TWI. Coach Vince will handle team registration. You will not be eligible to play on Sept. 7, unless your High School Participation paperwork is turned in to Mrs. Biddle (see above) and TWI paperwork is turned in to Coach Vince. County Recognizes Tornados
Congratulations to the following players for receiving all county recognition:

Tornados lose to East Lake to end the Season
The Tornados lose in the second round of districts to East Lake 11 - 1. Not much for highlights as the defense committs 6 errors and the offense can only get 3 hits. Tuesday, April 28
Tornados Win First District Game
Staked to an 8 - 0 lead in the first inning the Tornados hold on and win 11- 6 against Palm Harbor. Extra base hits from Andre Ortega 3B, Brad James (2) 2B, Brett Gourlay 2B, Dustin Sanford 2B, Jabe Molinaro 2B. Multiple hits from Andrew McCormick 3, Brad James 3, Andre Ortega 2, Sean O'Brien 2. The Tornados now play East Lake at 5:00 pm at Englebert Complex Wednesday. Thursday, April 23
Tornados Almost Come Back for a Win Against Dixie Hollins
Down 12 - 1 at the bottom of the fourth inning the Tornados rally over the last 4 innings to pull within 2 runs before finally losing 12 - 10. They collect 12 hits lead by Andre Ortega's 3 hits followed by Andrew McCormick, Sean O'Brien, and Jabe Molinaro with 2 hits each. Extra base hits include doubles by Andre Ortega, Andrew McCormick, Brett Gillman with a 3B and Sean O'Brien with a 2B and 3B. McCormick, O'Brien and Dustin Sanford each had 2 RBI's. Tornados close out the regular season with a loss to Seminole
The Tornados come up a little bit short losing to Seminole 5 - 3. Dustin Sanford and Andrew McCormick had two hits apiece and Dustin also had 2 RBI's. The lone extra base hit was a double by Brian Andrasek. They complete the regular season with a record of 8 wins and 16 losses. Monday, April 20
Tornados Win against Osceola
The Tornados collect 15 hits on the way to a 15 - 7 win against Osceola. Leading the hit parade was Andrew McCormick with 4 hits, followed by Dustin Sanford, Brett Gillman and Jabe Molinaro with two hits apiece. Kasey Coffin knocked in 3 runs with a bases loaded triple. Other extra base hits were Andrew McCormick with a 2B, Brett Gillman with a 2B, and Sean O'Brien with a 3B. Jabe Molinaro also knocked in 3 runs while Dustin Sanford and Andrew McCormick had two RBI's each. The team record is 8 wins and 15 losses. Sunday, April 19

Monday the Tornados play Osceola at Jack Russell Stadium @ 7:00 pm. This is also senior night so we pay tribute to our 3 seniors Danial Armston, Brett Gourlay and Dustin Sanford. Tuesday will be our last regular season game against Seminole @ 7:00 pm at Jack Russell Stadium. Thursday, April 16
Tornados fall to 7 - 15 after losing to Tarpon
The Tornados lose 13 -5 to Tarpon Springs. Six errors allow 8 unearned runs during the game. Kasey Coffin pitched 4.2 innings in relief giving up one earned run. The offense was led by Andre Ortega who was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. Thursday, April 9

Tornados Come From Behind to Win in the 7th
The Tornados holding a 4 -2 lead going into the bottom of the 6th inning give up 4 unearned runs to fall behind 6 - 4. But in the top of the 7th with some timely hitting and walks they score 4 runs and hold on for an 8 - 7 win. O'Brien leads off the 7th with a single, after 3 walks scores a run Brad James squeezes home the tying run. After another walk to load the bases Andre Ortega gets a single to center to score two. Daniel Armston picks up the win in relief and Andre Ortega gets the save. Tonights 7 - 6 win over Osceola was the result from a Dustin Sanford bunt in the top of the 7th inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd scoring both on the play. Daniel Armston pitched a complete game giving up zero earned runs. Dustin Sanford and Brian Andrasek had 3 RBI's each. Brett Gilman had 2 hits. Brian Andrasek and Sean O'Brien scored 2 runs each. Tornados Get Their First Win of the Season
The Tornados hang on to record their first win of the season against Eastlake. The Tornados had a 2 - 0 lead after three innings but let Eastlake take the lead in the top of the fourth 3 - 2. Then a clutch two out single by Andre Ortega scored two runs to regain the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Eastlake tied it at 4 in the top of the sixth inning only to surrender it in the bottom of the sixth for a Tornado lead of 5 - 4. In the top of the 7th Eastlake loaded the bases with one out but Sean O'Brien who went the distance on the mound struck out the last to batters to end the threat. Monday, February 23

Tornados fall to 0 - 3 after loss to Seminole
The Tornaodos start the season at 0 -3 after losing to Seminole 7 - 0 in the teams final game of the Hitting Academy Invitational Tournament in Seminole. The next three games are home games at Jack Russell Stadium. Tuesday against Palm Harbor, Wednesday against Northeast and Friday against East Lake. All game times start at 7:00 pm. The next game has been changed to Saturday 21st @ 10:00 am in Seminole against either CCC or Seminole.
The Tornados lose their 2nd game in a row in the last inning giving up two runs in the 7th to fall 4 - 2 to the Countryside Cougars. Tuesday, February 17
Tornados lose season opener to Cardinal Mooney
At the Hitting Academy Invitational season opening tournament in Seminole the Tornados lose to the Cardinal Mooney Cougars in extra innings 2 - 1. Andrew McCormick pitched 8 strong innings giving up one earned run before giving way to the bullpen in the 9th. An unearned run wins it for the Cougars in the bottom of the 9th. The Tornados faced some strong pitching only collecting four hits with doubles from Sean Gilman and Andrew McCormick.
