Cold Spring Cardinals Baseball Team: Welcome
MISSION STATEMENT
Develop young athletes into a fun and competitive 8 year and under baseball team.
PROGRAM GOALS
We will accomplish this mission through achievement of excellence in baseball fundamentals and sportsmanship, while displaying overall integrity in playing this great game.
BASEBALL FUNDAMENTALS Provide each player with the opportunity to learn, develop, and improve baseball skills during practice and game events.
· Coaches will provide techniques and tools to all players that have been passed onto them from other coaches, professionals, and league representatives.
· Hustle is expected.
· Parents are encouraged to spend time with their player(s) outside of practice/games to improve upon baseball skills taught by the team. This will also grow the parent-child relationship.
SPORTSMANSHIP Team members (both players and coaches) will exhibit a respect for players, coaches, and parents of our team, as well as the opposing team. Respect shall also be given to league officials and umpires.
· Bad language, taunting, and inappropriate behavior by a player, coach, or parent will not be tolerated by the team and may be cause for benching of the player and/or removal from the team.
· League rules will prevail.
INTEGRITY - Fairness in utilizing all players will be key to team survival.
· Each player will be given the opportunity to play as many positions as that player can demonstate skill and is properly prepared to play.
· Primary positions are earned through talent and demonstration of A & B above.
· Each player will be provided with an atmosphere that encourages mental, social, and emotional maturity to move onto the next level of baseball and life.
