The Crystal City Stars Recruiting and Placement Program has designed a package to help and educate parents and players about the recruiting process. Following our simple instructions will get you the responses you want from college coaches. We will also include a lot of additional information that will make you comfortable in the recruiting process as well as in visiting a college campus.
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
How the recruiting process works. If you understand how the process works, you can place yourself a little higher on a coaches list, You will find out exactly what the steps are, how and when they take place and how you fit into this process.
RECRUITING RULES:
The NCAA Clearinghouse eligibility, when a college coach can contact and evaluate you. Recruiting terms like Evaluation Periods, Contact Periods, Quiet Periods, Dead Periods, Offical Visits to a college campus and what a College Questionnaire means to you.
A TIMELINE:
Of when you should send your information and video to college coaches as well as when you should be scheduling campus visits. Both are very important in helping you make the right choices about your career and education.
PERSONAL LETTER of INTRODUCTION:
Expressing your interest in their college and basketball program. A coach is going to look at athletes that he knows are already interested in their school and program. You need to make sure they know.
ATHLETIC PROFILE:
Our form is ready to be filled in with the athlete's personal athletic/academic statistics, achievements and honors throughout their career to date. The information on this form is critical to how a college coach is going to look at the athlete. This form will be mailed, faxes and e-mailed to colleges and coaches of your choice.
VIDEO - GAME/SKILL FOOTAGE:
Video tape is a very important part of the recruiting process. A coach needs to do an evaluation of your athletic abilities. Video may be the first look the player will receive from a college coach. A good quality video tape goes a long way in keeping you in the running. Knowing what a coach wants to see gives you a little more advantage.
