Coach and Program
The spring and summer of 2010 is Armando Toppi's 18th season coaching the Crystal City Stars Girls AAU Basketball Team. In it's first sixteen years, the program has produced 37 Division I players, 25 Division II players and several have gone on to play at the Division III level.
For 14 winters seasons, Armando has coached both junior varsity and varsity girls basketball. He has been involved with teams that have won league, county and state championships.
Coach Toppi founded and coached the Corning Club Skyhawks Boys Basketball Program for 15 years. Spent 20 years as the Youth and Adult Sports Director for the Corning Community YMCA and 37 years in summer camping for youth at Camp Stella Maris. Coach Toppi also spent 5 summers coaching at basketball camps in North Carolina, Ohio and New York. He is currently in his 17th year working for the Corning/Painted Post School District in the field of Special Education.
