Welcome to Crossroads Soccer Association
Thank you for visiting the Crossroads Soccer Association's website. The Crossroads Soccer Association is affiliated to both the Louisiana Soccer Association and United States Youth Soccer. We are the largest soccer club in Central Louisiana with over 1000 Youth players and have seen a continued growth each year since Crossroads began in 1994. We have one of the finest soccer facilities in the South with the Johnny Downs Sports Complex and the O'Hearn Mathew's Soccer Fields, as well as the Crossroads Ayres Indoor Soccer Arena.

**The coaches of the U10 E-Lemon-Ators and Mad Dogs have indicated that they do not wish to participate in the tournament. The E-Lemon-Ators will have a small round robin play on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the indoor arena at 6:00, immediately following the U10 clinic.

Luke Marshall is Crossroads Soccer Association's new Director of Coaching!
Luke is a professional coach and will be working with all of our teams (players and coaches) this spring to provide the best possible training for our players. He is currently running our Winter Indoor League as well as the Instructional Indoor Clinics. Spring 2010 Registration
Season begins February 20, 2010!
For all those who were unable to play soccer this fall, you can now register for the spring season! Please follow the "Handout" link below or visit the "Handouts" section of this website. You can download the registration forms (including the Registration Form as well as the Medical Waiver/ Release Form), print them, and mail to the Crossroads P.O. Box with payment enclosed. The deadline to register for the Spring Season is Wednesday, February 10, 2010, and the season will begin Saturday, February 20. 2010. As always, please feel free to contact the office with any questions or concerns. Remember, if you registered in the fall, then you are already automatically registered for the spring.
**We always try to form rosters according to requests, but please understand that all requests may not be possible.

It is time to register your Indoor Adult League Team!
THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL TUESDAY, JANUARY 19, 2010!
Winter Indoor Adult League: January- April
Summer Indoor Adult League: May- August
›Small-sided 6v6 format
›Games will be played on Sundays
›Rosters are limited to 10 players per team
›There will be an end of season playoff tournament
›Registration is $50 per player…
›OR $90 to register for both winter and summer Adult Leagues

A Medical Waiver/ Release Form must be submitted to play. Team registrations may be turned in together or separately, but a roster must be submitted to ensure a team plays together. Training for Coaches!
USSF E License Coaches Course- dates have been changed!

The course will be taught by Paul Ellis, President Soccer Academy, Inc. and Crossroads new Director of Coaching, Luke Marshall.
LOCATION
Field Sessions: Johnny Downs Sports Complex (271 Vandenburg Drive)
Classroom Sessions: Holiday Inn Express (2340 Macarthur Drive)
Friday 6:00pm – 9:30pm
Saturday 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Sunday 9:00am – 6:30pm
We encourage all of our recreation coaches to consider enrolling in this fun and extremely informative course. You will learn fun, age-appropriate ways to teach your players fundamental technical skills as well as tactical decision-making. The cost of the course is $60, but Crossroads will pay for half ($30) for any of our coaches that sign up. Please call the office at 473-1203 to obtain the voucher # to get the discount before you register with LSA. This is a great opportunity for our coaches to learn more to be able to give our players the best possible training.

GOALKEEPER TRAINING: FEBRUARY 21, 2010, 10:30AM-12PM

Paul Ellis and Luke Marshall will hold a training session open to all Crossroads Soccer Coaches on Goalkeeper Training during the E License Course. If Coaches have a designated goalkeeper on his or her team, the player may also attend. This is a specialized area of the game that needs attention from the coaches. This session will give coaches some great tools going into this Spring Season! Please RSVP to the office by phone or email.

INSTRUCTIONAL INDOOR CLINICS
Crossroads Soccer Association has teamed up with Soccer Academy Inc., one of the founding companies in American Soccer that has gained an exceptional reputation for its work in youth soccer education and player development. Mr. Luke Marshall, a young dynamic coach, has been selected by Crossraods Soccer and Soccer Academy as the new Director of Coaching and will head up this new winter program. U6 LITTLE STRIKERS: (boys & girls ages 4&5; Sat. 9-10AM/starting Dec. 5th)
Designed to introduce the game of soccer to the youngest developing players. Activities are varied and include a lot of fun, age appropriate games. This clinic is excellent for coordination, decision-making and social interaction. ($50 for 8 sessions)
U8 DIVISION: (boys & girls; Sat. 10:15-11:15AM/ starting Dec. 5th)
At this age, we focus on fun activities and games that teach and develop the fundamental skills of soccer: dribbling, ball control, passing and shooting. This is the age when the player requires excellent teaching to ensure perfect techniques. ($50 for 8 sessions)
U10 DIVISION: (boys & girls; Tues. 5-6PM/starting Dec. 12th)
Designed to be age appropriate, the techniques at this age will be advanced, and tackling and heading will be taught. Tactical decision making will be stressed with 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 situations. The speed of play will be introduced and free play will be encouraged. ($50 for 8 sessions)
U12 DIVISION: (boys & girls; Tues. 6:30-7:45PM/ starting Dec. 8th)
Designed to be age and ability appropriate, techniques will now be refined and advanced. Players will be challenged in small sided games of 5v5 and 6v6. "Speed of play," "support play," and the "when, where and why" will be instructed. This clinic is an ideal apportunity to learn tactics and improve soccer knowledge. ($70 for 8 sessions)
U14 DIVISION- DEFEND: (boys & girls; Fri. 5-6:15/ starting Dec. 4th)
This advanced program features "functional training" that teaches individual and team defending. All aspects of defending will be covered as well as how to transition from defense into attack. Functional training is essential to improve your positional role as a player. ($80 for 8 sessions)
U14 DIVISION- ATTACK: (boys & girls; Fri. 6:30-7:45/ starting Dec. 4th)
This advanced program features "functional training" for teaching attack. This clinic is specifically designed for attacking players and includes: shooting on the volley, shielding and takeovers, combination plays, diagonal running, 1v1 to goal, and heading in the attack as well as defending in the front. Functional training is essential to improve your positional role as a player. ($80 for 8 sessions)
U12-U14 GOALKEEPING: (boys & girls; Sat. 11:30-12:30/ starting Dec. 5th)
Goalkeeping is a specialized position. All aspects of goalkeeping fundaments will be taught and practiced, such as: good feet and hands, distribution, goal kicks, shot stopping, angles of play, 1v1, high cross balls, communication, and controlling the defesive area. ($70 for 8 sessions)
