Crossroads Soccer Association is hosting a FREE GIRLS SOCCER CLINIC  on November 21, 2009 from 1-3 pm at O’Hearn Mathews Soccer Complex on Bayou Rapides Road.  Call or email the office today to let us know you're coming and reserve a spot.  (write crossroadsoccer@gmail.com or call 473-1203)

The clinic will be conducted by our new Director of Coaching, Luke Marshall as well as guest coach John Ellis, former US Women’s National Team Coach!

All girls, ages U6-U14, are welcome to come and train with these exceptional coaches and get geared up for the indoor season.  If players are not currently registered with Crossroads or another LSA affiliated club (RAPSA), a fee of $15 will be required to obtain insurance.  (Please note that AYSO is not affiliated with LSA.)  Please feel free to call our office with any questions you may have.

The end of our fall season is approaching quickly, and it is time to register for the winter indoor season.  This is a great opportunity for soccer players to stay active through the winter and continue to work on soccer techniques.  This is a fun time for the kids to play in a different atmosphere; and the ball never goes out of bounds!  This league will be played at the Crossroads Ayres Indoor Arena located at 2700 Lee Street.  The entrance is on Sylvester Street (off Masonic Drive across from the City of Alexandria tennis courts, next door to the Boys & Girls Club).  Games will be played during the day on Saturdays; (game times will be determined by the number of teams). 

›The Registration deadline is November 30, 2009.

›The dates for the league will be as follows:  December 5, 12 and 19; January 7, 16, 23 and 30; and a small tournament the weekend of February 6-7. 

›The fee for currently registered players is $50. 

›The fee for players not currently registered is $65. 

›Teams will be provided with uniform t-shirts.   Please visit the Handouts tab of this website in the “Indoor Soccer” section to download the registration form and medical waiver/release form.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the office.  

 IF YOU ARE REGISTERED WITH CROSSROADS THIS FALL, WE ALREADY HAVE A MEDICAL WAIVER ON FILE.  IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY REGISTERED WITH CROSSROADS SOCCER ASSOCIATION FOR THE 2009-2010 SEASON, PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND COMPLETE A MEDICAL WAIVER.  THE WAIVER SHOULD BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH THE REGISTRATION FORM.  CROSSROADS WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ACCOMMODATE TEAM REQUESTS IF ROSTER SPOTS ARE AVAILIBLE.  HOWEVER, DUE TO THE LIMITED ROSTER SIZE, YOUR REQUEST MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 30^th.  THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR THE WINTER INDOOR LEAGUE.

 U6 LITTLE STRIKERS: (boys & girls ages 4&5; Sat. 9-10AM/starting Dec. 5th)

Designed to introduce the game of soccer to the youngest developing players.  Activities are varied and include a lot of fun, age appropriate games.  This clinic is excellent for coordination, decision-making and social interaction.  ($50 for 8 sessions)

U8 DIVISION: (boys & girls; Sat. 10:15-11:15AM/ starting Dec. 5th)

At this age, we focus on fun activities and games that teach and develop the fundamental skills of soccer: dribbling, ball control, passing and shooting.  This is the age when the player requires excellent teaching to ensure perfect techniques. ($50 for 8 sessions)

U10 DIVISION: (boys & girls; Tues. 5-6PM/starting Dec. 12th)

Designed to be age appropriate, the techniques at this age will be advanced, and tackling and heading will be taught.  Tactical decision making will be stressed with 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 situations.  The speed of play will be introduced and free play will be encouraged. ($50 for 8 sessions)

U12 DIVISION: (boys & girls; Tues. 6:30-7:45PM/ starting Dec. 8th)

Designed to be age and ability appropriate, techniques will now be refined and advanced.  Players will be challenged in small sided games of 5v5 and 6v6.  "Speed of play," "support play," and the "when, where and why" will be instructed.  This clinic is an ideal apportunity to learn tactics and improve soccer knowledge. ($70 for 8 sessions)

U14 DIVISION- DEFEND: (boys & girls; Fri. 5-6:15/ starting Dec. 4th)

This advanced program features "functional training" that teaches individual and team defending.  All aspects of defending will be covered as well as how to transition from defense into attack.  Functional training is essential to improve your positional role as a player. ($80 for 8 sessions)

U14 DIVISION- ATTACK: (boys & girls; Fri. 6:30-7:45/ starting Dec. 4th)

This advanced program features "functional training" for teaching attack.  This clinic is specifically designed for attacking players and includes: shooting on the volley, shielding and takeovers, combination plays, diagonal running, 1v1 to goal, and heading in the attack as well as defending in the front.  Functional training is essential to improve your positional role as a player. ($80 for 8 sessions)

U12-U14 GOALKEEPING: (boys & girls; Sat. 11:30-12:30/ starting Dec. 5th)

Goalkeeping is a specialized position.  All aspects of goalkeeping fundaments will be taught and practiced, such as: good feet and hands, distribution, goal kicks, shot stopping, angles of play, 1v1, high cross balls, communication, and controlling the defesive area. ($70 for 8 sessions)
