Crofton Girls Lacrosse: 2011 Spring Season Divisions
All Sticklette coaching positions have been filled-thank you! Sticklette team information has not yet been released. You will be notified by end of March. Practices don't begin until April!
Eligible players: Grades K, 1, and 2. Girls MUST be in Kindergarten AND 5 years old at time of registration. Girls born from January May 2003 have a choice: they may play Sticklette or Pee Wee. As a countywide rule, Sticklettes practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays in April and play games on Tuesdays and Thursdays in May.
Pee Wee - 3rd & 4th Grade $100.00
"Playing-up" to Pee-Wee? Parents wishing to do this, please note this will be based on team space available and order of registration. We WILL NOT take a space away from a 3rd or 4th grader. You may forfeit any car-pooling and coaching requests etc. as these 2nd graders will be evenly placed among the teams. Please note as stated below - These players must turn 8 years old prior May 31st, 2011.
Pee Wee is the first level of county play. Practices begin in early to mid-March and are held at Crofton Middle School. You MUST BE 8 BY MAY 31ST in order to play Pee Wee. There is no checking at this level, and scores are not recorded in this 8 v 8 format. The big change from Sticklette is the addition of goalkeepers. Games are played on various fields throughout the county (home games at Crofton Middle School) on weekends with some games played during the week. The focus will continue to be on skill building. Young ladies in 3rd and 4th grades are eligible.
Middies - 5th & 6th Grade $100.00
The Middies play 12 v 12 around the county on weekends and during the week. While the focus is always on skill-building, this level is broken into three divisions: A, B, and C. As such, players will be placed by ability. There is modified (below the shoulder) stick checking at this level. Athletes in 5th and 6th grade are eligible. Attendance at more than 1 placement session is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
Juniors - 7th & 8th Grade $100.00
Full stick checking is allowed, and teams are leveled by ability in 12 v 12 games played around the county. As with the Middies, this level is broken into A, B, and C divisions, and players will be placed by ability. Attendance at more than 1 placement session is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
Seniors - 9th - 12th Grade
We do not field Senior teams. If your daughter is in high school and not playing for her high school team, there IS a senior league in Anne Arundel County. For more information, please go to: www.glaaac.org
