ATTENTION SOCCER CHEERLEADERS
FINAL GAME INFORMATION FOR TOMORROW:
We just got the playoff game information for tomorrow and were surprised to find out neither of the games are being played at Maple Grove.  There is a girls game at Osseo at 5pm and a boys game at Mounds View at 7pm.
We have made the executive decision for the cheerleaders to go to the game at Osseo starting at 5pm.
Please have your cheerleader ride the activity bus from MGJH to OSH (Jordan please meet the other cheerleaders at the high school).  They can go into OJH and sit in the cafeteria and work on homework and get ready for the game in the bathrooms there.  They will meet Nicky and James on the Osseo Field Track at 4:20pm.
Looking at the weather it is going to be another cold day.  Please have your cheerleader pack extra items to stay warm...layers and headbands/mittens.
The game should be complete by about 7pm.  Please arrange to pick your cheerleader up from the OSH Soccer Field.
Thanks,
Coach Nicky

Senior Practices

We are very happy to hear how the senior practies are going.  This summer looks like it is going to be a hot one and there may be times the seniors move the location to the beach or someone's home to provide more shade or a place to go swimming.  If location is going to change - it will be posted by 8pm Monday that week.  I would also like to point out it is very important for people to arrange rides prior to arriving to practice.  Our drivers may have prior commitments already planned for after practice, and it is difficult when people expect they are able to give rides home at the last minute.  Once again, thank you for all of your hard work and we look forward to a great year! The MG cheerleaders rock!

Cheer List for Summer is now on the Cheerleading News Page and in the handout folders!

CHEERLEADING INFORMATION MEETING  - COMPLETED!

 Monday, April 27th, 2009  6:00PM

  MGSH - Forum Room

This meeting is to provide information about our program and expectations to both cheerleaders and parents.  This is a great meeting to attend if you want more information on commitment, practice times, fundraisers, costs, and more indepth tryout information.

 JR. HIGH CLINIC - COMPLETED!

 Wednesday, April 29th, 2009 6:00-8:00pm

This is a free clinic offered to anyone currently in grades 6-9 who are interested in trying out for Maple Grove Cheerleading.  You will have the opportunity to learn the cheer basics, like jumps, cheers, and stunting without the pressure of all the veteran cheerleaders around.  This is a carefree, fun way to see if cheerleading is for you!

 TRYOUT CLINIC -- COMPLETED!

 Monday - Wednesday, May 4th-6th, 2009 6:00-8:30pm

This is a three day clinic to teach you all of the material required for tryouts.  Day 1 usually involves a general introduction of the coaching staff, learning material, tumbling and stunting 101.  Day 2 we will do a brief overview of the material, some jumps and tumbling, as well as work on stunting more in depth.  Day 3 is the day you are put in your tryout groups (4-5 people).  This is more of an open gym type of day to better prepare yourself for tryouts.  Each day you are given points of participation for tryouts.

 TRYOUTS - COMPLETED!

 Thursday, May 7th, 2009 6:00-9:00pm

Each group will sign up for a time to tryout.  This will be the only day you will be awarded skill points in order to determine squad placement.  The highest scoring cheerleaders get their first choice of squad placement.
