The crush wil be holding a welcome picnic for all crush players and families 9/6/2009. Start time is 2:00 pm at Goodenow grove, Beecher Illinois. The Crush teams will be providing the meat and families are asked to bring a side. Each team is assigned a certain course (side) so check with your coach. We will play games so bring your favorites. There will be Bags, Whiffle Ball, Hill Billy Golf + more.. I will be glad to beat Coach Tom's Boys at bags once again - they really love that!
Please give a count to your coach so we make sure there is enough food. Bevergaes are BYOB. We have had these in the past and everyone that attends has a great time! Past pictures can be found on the albumns tab.
It is just a good old fashioned picnic to get to know all our new players and coaches.
Mark it on your calendar!

CRUSH 10u Orange TAKE NSA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!
That's right team Rogers has one-upped coach Welsh's best by finishing 1st in the NSA "B" northern state tourney. These girls are on quite an amazing roll as they have also won the Morris tourney & the Wisconson Dells Tourney. Coach Rogers is so proud of the way his girls played durng the weekend. If you have not seen the team play - you are missing something special. Check out their page to get a schedule & come cheer them on!
Tuesday, July 21 14u Team Reilly Places Second in Orland A's Exposure Tourney
Team Reilly worked magic knocking out some fantastic competition on Saturday to place second in the Orlands A's Exposure tourney. Coach Reilly was very proud of the girls play well before they went to the "ship". Things got tough in the championship as the girls watched one of their own suffer a tough injury. The team was unable to come back after they watched Alison removed from the field after suffering a knee injury on the mound. We wish her all the best and hope she is up and around soon!!
Tuesday, July 7 14u - SHIP
14u Gets to "The SHIP!"
Many teams take the 4th weekend off, but if you are team Reilly you head up to Naperville for the Rib Fest and a good old fashioned dose of Championship Softball. The girls spent thier holiday weekend putting together an amazing run of wins to capture the title with a win against a very taleneted Chi-Town team. I think you all deserve a big Hoorah!!
Tuesday, July 7 12u 3rd Place Finish
12u Girls Come Home With 3rd
Team Lowe put together a nice tourney down in Bloomington to finish 3rd in the ASA "B" Tourney. This is one of the quickest filling tourney around and Coach Lowe loves to go downstate. The girls played really good. We went down with the intent of playing hard and finishing high. That is exactly what they did. VERY NICE!

Crush 10u Black take 3rd in Kankakee
Team Hickory our 1st year 10u team has battled hard all season as they learned the ins & outs of travel ball. The girls showed how well they have learned by capturing 3rd in a Kankakee Tourney a couple weeks ago. It has been a tremendous transformation as the girls learn competitive softball. Coach Hickory has bragged on this team and their progress all season and is so happy with their finish. Great Job Girls!!

Sunday, November 30 Crush Holds Food Drive
Crush Holds Food Drive
One day coach Gina was doing her banking at First United when she saw a sign for the Food drive they were holding for the Crete Food Pantry. Coach Gina thought that was a great idea especially since she didn't even know Crete had a food pantry. If Coach Gina didn't know...How many others did not know.
So our wonderful Crush families held a food drive "Crush style". We held fall round robins for our teams and teams of the community. We asked for donations from the teams and our own Crush parents and asked them to bring them to the fields the morning of the round robin. The response was tremendous. We collected over ten boxes of food that were delivered to the Crete Food Pantry. Everything from baby food to vegetables were bagged up and brought over for needy families this fall.
Thank you to all the parents, players and visiting teams that assisted us in our drive! We could have never done that without you. Thank you also to Coach Lowe who helped me deliver the food to the pantry.
