Coach Kaster Does Time for MDA
Head Coach Jeff Kaster was recently volunteered to be "incarcerated" for the 2006 MDA Jail & Bail. One of the senior wrestlers (we won't mention names Dennis) thought Coach Kaster should do some time for MDA. Coach Kaster did well for MDA, raising a lot of "Bail" pledges.

Ben Peterson Coaching

Olympic Champion Ben Peterson Visits Practice
Olympic Champion Ben Peterson visited the Cougars for a practice recently. Along with a wealth of wrestling knowledge and humorous stories, Ben shared his Olympic Gold Medal from the 1972 games, and his Silver Medal from the 1976 games. The Cougars learned many basic and advanced skills in a short amount of time. Mr. Peterson shared many techniques for handling an opponent, and life's obstacles.
It was quite apparent during his time with the Cougars, that Ben Peterson is a humble, good natured man, and could still take anyone in the room. He showed that he has probably forgotten more about wrestling than most wrestlers ever learn.
It was a great treat for Ben to visit the Cougars.

First Craig Wrestling Boot Camp
Craig wrestling's first summer training camp, Boot Camp, just finished. Many of the wrestlers showed up for intense drill and instruction. Several incoming freshmen made the camp, as well as some recent graduates.
The camp was lucky enough to get a visit from UW Badgers coach Barry Davis. The cougars were excited to meet Coach Davis, but spent from the tough drills he brought with him.
The Boot Camp was run by Head Coach Jeff Kaster, and assistant coached Eric Vold, Dave Garvin, Jim Bellamo, and Jason Vogt. Several parents also stepped up to help the camp run smooth.
Check under photos for some pictures from Boot Camp.
