DUTY OF CARE
------------
All coaches are reminded that they have a DUTY OF CARE to all players under their supervision both during their training sessions as well as games. The following points are key areas for your consideration.
1 Players are to wear prescribed personal protective equipment at all appropriate times during training and games ie: helmets, protectors, face masks etc.
2 Coaches, whether you are playing at home or away are to inspect ground to ensure they are safe to play or train on.
3 All kit bags are to carry First Aid kit at all times.
4 Coaches are at all times to promote the safe execution of drills and practices both at training and at games ie NO SLIDING HEAD FIRST
5 Coaches should ensure that all players left under their control collected by parents after both games and training. Players are not to be left unsupervised waiting in carparks or at grounds.
6 The reporting of any incident or accident to any player is to be taken seriously and a considered judgement should be made, maybe in conjunction with any attendant parents as to the nature of further involvement at the time.

PLAYER MANAGEMENT
-----------------
1 All players under your control should be treated without bias of a GENDER, ETHNICITY, PHYSICAL APPEARANCE or PLAYING ABILITY nature
2 Players should at no time be verbally or physically harassed and should not be addressed using foul or abusive language.
3 All players should be encouraged to give their best and be given positive affirmation of their worth to the group.
4 All players should be encouraged to perform in a sportsmanlike manner and appreciate both the efforts of their team mates as well as the opposition, and should be taught to respect umpires and opposition coaches.
5 All players should be given equal opportunity to perform both in training and during games, equal playing time for all is also necessary, Try and give all players some variety in their fielding and batting positions.

GAME RESPONSIBILITIES
---------------------
1 A training regime should be established and the length and day be agreed by parents and players.
2 All coaches are to ensure their timely arrival and regular attendance at agreed training sessions.
3 All coaches are to agree with parents and players as to the required time for players to be at games to ensure a sensible pre game warm up and to attend to pre game formalities. Coaches are to ensure that they are also on time and present upon arrival of players.
4 Coaches should at all times be dressed in an appropriate manner with a club cap a must, along with appropriate footwear - no thongs or sandals.
5 All coaches are responsible for the clubs playing gear and training equipment. All such items are to be used responsibly and any defect or faulty equipment is to be reported to the gear steward and club secretary.
6 Coaches are to make themselves familiar with the local playing rules for their particular age group and are to follow same at all times. Should any protest be necessary this is only to be forwarded by the club secretary after consultation.
7 Coaches or their representative should make themselves available for the clubs monthly meeting.
