Outnumbered but not outplayed as 7 healthy skaters defeat twice as many Ice Monkeys
Oaks, PA – The game started shortly after the Phillies clinched their 3rd straight Division title. The locker room had plenty of room to stretch out. Perhaps everyone was celebrating too much. Eight skaters were available when the puck was dropped. After the 1st shift, there were only seven. Scott had a scary fall as his face hit the ice pretty hard. He tried a few more shifts but could not go on. The Yotes had to scramble to keep fresh legs out on the ice. A 2-2 tie after one period seemed like a moral victory. Samango would not allow another goal after that. A 3-goal outburst early in the 2nd set the tone for the rest of the game. Cicala went off scoring a hat trick plus one and adding an assist. Altmiller added 1 goal and 2 helpers and everyone else registered at least one point. A true team effort. Special kudos go out to those who showed up, Carpico, Maguire, McKee (filled in on D most of the night), Super D, and Wurster.
